Tuesday, October 27, 2020   Super Tuscan Gem
Flickinger Wines is thrilled to offer the 2014 Orma Toscana today. The Orma estate is located in the district of Castagneto Carducci within the Bolgheri DOC, and is home to only 5.5 hectares of well-exposed and carefully tended vineyard. Plantings of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc are brought to full ripeness by the brilliant summer sunshine for which this part of Tuscany is renowned. Gentle and consistent sea breezes keep the vines ventilated and free of rot despite dense plantings of 2,960 vines/acre. More than any other characteristic, however, Orma's vineyards are defined by their soil. Here, the soil is composed of a high proportion of sand and pebbles with considerably less clay than other coastal areas in Tuscany. This yields a well-drained growing environment in which vines are required to dig deep for buried water reserves. The result is a richly defined wine of power, concentration, and character.
Monday, October 26, 2020   California Collectibles

All of the legendary estates on offer here today would be the prize of any collection, and all hold their value as well as any wines on the planet. Every wine here is a highlight and 100 pointers abound - five vintages of Screaming Eagle, Harlan, Spottswoode and magnums of 2002 Insignia. No need to wait multiple years to get on a mailing list when we have them in-stock - take advantage of our inventory of these California legends and add a few bottles to your collection today - Cheers!
Friday, October 23, 2020   2017 Santa Duc Gigondas
On offer today is a cracker of a wine from the southern Rhone. Domaine Santa Duc has, under the watchful eye of fifth-generation winemaker Yves Gras - and now that of his son, Benjamin - become one of the leading lights of the southern Rhone, and today we are delighted to offer the 2017 vintage of his flagship bottling, Les Hautes Garrigues. Today this old vineyard site that supplies the grapes for this bottling (first planted in the mid-1800s) contains roughly 60% Grenache and 40% Mourvedre, and this is generally reflected in the blend of the wine each vintage, with minor adjustments made depending on the year. The end result is a wine which has the deep layers of sunny fruit that you would expect from the Grenache plus the broad tannic structure from the Mourvedre that allows it to age so beautifully. 2017 was a highly successful vintage in the southern Rhone overall, and Les Hautes Garrigues has superb freshness, density and structure - and exceptional overall balance for plenty of upside development over the coming years. And, at under $50/b, this is a real steal!
Wednesday, October 21, 2020   Brewer Clifton Pinot Noir
“Over 20 years ago two young aspiring winemakers met, each bringing a vision and a drive to produce world-class wine. Focusing on the Burgundian roots of pinot noir and chardonnay, they paid homage to France. They were keen on making their own footprint and forging a style that was uniquely Californian. The wines embrace the power, pedigree and richness of the Sta. Rita Hills, that has become the trademark of Brewer–Clifton.” We are delighted today to feature the Brewer-Clifton Santa Rita Hills Pinot Noir from 2016. Farming with a focus on ripening stems alongside the fruit, allowing for the cluster to be in harmony. Working with the stems allows for wines that are structured, earthy, and balanced with their beautiful SRH fruit. See below for some rather attractive quantity-based discounts.
Tuesday, October 20, 2020   Brunelli !!
We Love Brunello. Is it the incredible beauty of Tuscany? Is it the in the incredibly friendly people? Or is it the sangiovese grape? There is little better than sitting overlooking Montalcino with a bottle of BdM... Its the best! Well, we will have to settle for the wine for now and there is plenty to choose from. Whether its Fuligni, Valdicava, Casanova di Neri, Conti Constanti, Poggio di Sotto, Salvioni, Lisini, Uccelliera...or many others - We have Brunelli for you...

Saturday, October 17, 2020   2018 Boillot Price Reductions!
Today we are offering you price reductions on our remaining inventory of Henri's 2018 vintage as we make room for the upcoming 2019 vintage. This offers you a fantastic opportunity to pick up some real steals from this superb vintage - and given how yields were significantly reduced in 2019 (down close to 50%) I would strongly urge you to grab them now before they go!
Wednesday, October 14, 2020   Albert Morot
Today we would like to feature three Premier Cru Burgundy bottlings. Domaine Albert Morot has been synonymous with AOC Beaune since 1820. This benchmark domaine has been continuously run by founder Albert Morot’s descendants. Since 2000, Albert’s great, great-grand-nephew Geoffroy Choppin de Janvry has run the family business and ushered it into a new era. Geoffroy and his team farm 8 hectares almost entirely in Premier Cru vineyards. The vines average 50 years of age and yields are kept low, between 25 to 35 hectoliters per hectare. It is a delight to offer these delicious wines at such advantageous prices—it is a rarity to find Premier Cru’s under $50 a bottle.
Tuesday, October 13, 2020   Pomerol & St. Emilion
Today we are highlighting Flickinger Wines' outstanding selection of right-bank Bordeaux wines, including a huge selection of St. Emilion and choice Pomerol. St-Emilion contains a wide variety of different terroirs, and thus a wide range of wine styles are produced, ranging from bold and hedonistic to fresher, more mineral examples. Pomerol is the smallest appellation in Bordeaux, and in the not too distant past was consider unreliable and inconsistent. However, since the 90's that all changed and now some of the most collectible wines on the planet come from this hallowed ground. The best Pomerol wines are known for their sensuality and silky textures, plus their soft tannins and rich fruit. The right bank wines are dominated by Merlot and Cabernet Franc, with Merlot giving the rich fruit and plush textures, and the Cab Franc adding aromatics and structure. Both of these stellar appellations are food friendly and the best examples of course age supremely well.

This is something here for everyone, so take the time to browse this great list and add some new Cabernet to your cellar today - happy hunting!
Saturday, October 10, 2020   2018 Vincent Paris Cornas
Today we are thrilled to offer you the 2018 vintage from one of Cornas' stars, Vincent Paris. Paris is still considered one of the 'new' producers in Cornas, despite having 20 vintages under his belt! Nephew to the legendary Robert Michel, Pairs manages 8 hectares of vineyard (6 of which are owned) and produces a miserly 1,600 cases or so of Cornas a year. His style is classic and concentrated - he prunes heavily to 4 bunches per vine (concentrating the plants energy), ferments with a large percentage of stems at low temperatures and ages the wines in neutral oak. The resulting wines are textbook Cornas - vibrant, mineral-driven, deep and concentrated - one smell and you immediately know where the wine came from. Two wines are on offer today: Granit 30 and Granit 60. The Granit 30 is arguably the greatest value in the entire Rhône Valley, a textbook Cornas for under $35 a bottle...there are Côtes du Rhônes that sell for this (and more) that can't hold a candle to it - grab some today! The old vine Granit 60 is also an incredible value that will age beautifully and can hold its own against Cornas' greatest wines. Don't let these slip away!! The 2018 vintage ended up being a hot, dry one after a wet start that led to much disease pressure - though the steep slopes of Cornas fared much better than many other areas, and the rain served to bring back the water levels to more normal measurements. Most of the rest of the growing season was warm and dry, and near-perfectly ripe grapes were harvested under good conditions. The 2018s are a touch more concentrated than the 2017s and they have more freshness than the preceding vintage. As Jeb Dunnuck writes, "..this is another sensational vintage for the region. 2018 appears to check in just behind the likes of 2015 and 2010, yet it isn’t far off, and I think will be a step up over 2017."
Friday, October 9, 2020   New European Cellar
Today we are highlighting a small but thrilling collection of wines mostly from France (Bordeaux, Burgundy, Rhone) but also including a couple of gems from Italy and Germany. Featured are highly sought-after producers such as Lynch Bages, Robert Chevillon, Benoit Ente, Rayas, Gonon, Pierre Peters, Egon Muller and Dal Forno, all of which have been stored under perfect conditions in our warehouse. This cellar has been very carefully put together by one of the most thoughtful collectors I know, and I would urge you to take advantage of this rare selection before it sells - you can be sure that if you are thinking about a certain wine on this list then someone else is too!
Tuesday, October 6, 2020   Extremely Rare Find
Today we are delighted to showcase a collection of the extremely difficult to find Ultramarine Sparkling Wine. Truly incredible to see six different vintages across three different cuvees in the same place. Sourcing fruit exclusively from the Charles Heintz Vineyard these sparkling wines are bottled, riddled and disgorged by hands of the SF Chronicle's 2016 Winemaker of the Year, Michael Cruse. The sparkling wine has become a cult wine that is hard to find and is only sold to mailing list members by allocation or hoarded by sommeliers at many of the best restaurants in the country. A chance here to capture a Unicorn!!
