JS 94 (7/2012): Gorgeous nose of warm stones and dark fruits. Full body with a solid core of fruit and chewy tannins, and a long and intense finish. Best ever. Best after 2016. WA 93 (2/2012): The best ever wine from this estate (even better than their sensational 2005), this full-bodied wine offers notes of blueberry, black currant, asphalt and burning charcoal embers in a deep, layered and multi-dimensional style. It is impressively pure and well-built, with far greater concentration and length than I ever remember this wine having in the past. Forget it for 5 years and drink it over the following three decades. |

JS 92-93 (4/2011): I love the mid-palate to this young and attractive red, with silky tannins and alluring mineral, berry and stone character. Enchanting. WA 90+ (2/2013): Abundant notes of spicy oak, elegant black currants and rich fruitiness along with hints of forest floor and damp earth are followed by a medium to full-bodied wine with sweet tannin and the classic Pessac-Leognan/Graves characteristics of tobacco leaf and smoke. Deep fruit, moderate tannin and a long finish give this wine enough potential to last for up to two decades or more. VM 88 (8/2013): Bright medium red. Slightly medicinal aromas of black cherry, licorice, tobacco leaf and earth. Spicy and firmly built, with fresh acidity giving the flavors of tobacco leaf, herbs and spices a rather stern mien today. Finishes a tad green, with drying tannins. I'm not sure where this can go in bottle. Stephen Tanzer. |

WA 93 (11/2018): The 2016 Latour Martillac is medium to deep garnet-purple in color with warm plums, kirsch and redcurrant jelly on the nose with touches of bay leaves, iron ore and black soil. Medium-bodied with a well-sustained mid-palate of muscular fruit, it has a firm backbone of fine-grained tannins and wonderful freshness, finishing very long. VM 92 (1/2019): The 2016 Latour-Martillac has come together very nicely during its aging. Black cherry, plum, leather, licorice, spice and chocolate give the 2016 much of its racy, extroverted feel. Deep, dark and quite powerful, the 2016 is showing beautifully today. The oak could use a bit more time to fully come together, but that is a relatively small critique for a wine that delivers so much pleasure. (Drink between 2022-2036). Antonio Galloni. JD 91 (2/2019): The 2016 Château Latour-Martillac is also terrific and has a structured, medium-bodied, firm style that’s going to benefit from cellaring. Blackberries, graphite, new leather, and a kiss of tobacco all emerge from this nicely textured, pure, layered Pessac. Give bottles 4-5 years and enjoy over the following two decades. (Drink between 2023-2043). |

JD 92-94 (4/2026): A charming, elegant wine, the 2025 Château Latour-Martillac reveals red, blue, and black fruits intermixed with leafy herbs, tobacco, and spicy wood. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, it has good purity and a balanced, already complex profile. It's not the most concentrated wine in the vintage, yet it's graceful and hard to resist. VM 92-94 (4/2026): The 2025 Latour-Martillac is quite powerful and imposing but nicely balanced. Dark red/purplish fruit, mocha and floral notes convey quite a bit of brightness to balance the natural intensity of the year. There's gorgeous substance here. Tasted two times Antonio Galloni. WA 90-92 (4/2026): Elegant and harmonious, the 2025 Latour Martillac wafts from the glass with aromas of cassis, mulberries, lead pencil and spice. Medium- to full-bodied, dense and concentrated, it’s built around a fleshy core of fruit and framed by an assertive tannic structure, concluding with a long, spicy finish. More reserved on the palate than the nose suggests, it should gain in depth and balance with élevage. JA 93 (4/2026): Lovely dark plum, coffee bean spice, this is a hugely consistent château, fully knitted down tannic structure, but dark cassis and bilberry fruit underneath, and track record suggests that all of these elements will happily co-exist after ageing. 32 hl/ha. 35 % new oak. Harvest September 4 to 20. 3.64 pH. |

JD 92-94 (4/2026): Stone fruits, orange blossom, mint, and a kiss of minerality all define the 2025 Château Latour-Martillac Blanc, a richer style of Pessac-Léognan blanc. Medium-bodied on the palate, it has a pure, balanced mouthfeel, moderate yet present acidity, and a clean finish. It brings the richness of the vintage while staying lively and vibrant. VM 93-95 (4/2026): The 2025 Latour-Martillac Blanc plays with a light reduction on the nose, quite mineral, with touches of sea spray coming through with time. The palate is well balanced and cohesive, with fine acidity, one of the most complex whites from this Pessac-Léognan estate that I have encountered, and it lingers on the saline finish. Bravo. Neal Martin. JA 94 (4/2026): Juicy, poised, pumice stone minerarlity, the acidity here is nervous and full of lift, great expansion through the palate, wild asparagus, and elderflower, super enjoyable.
