Cuvee Annabelle Pinot Noir |
$95 |

|
| |
| VM 95 (1/2022): The 2019 Pinot Noir Annabelle is a dark, brooding wine. Black cherry, plum, mocha, licorice and cloves infuse the Annabelle with tons of depth. This well-exposed site on Fort Ross-Seaview produces rich, thick-skinned grapes. All of that intensity comes through in a broad, ample Pinot that will reward readers with years of fine drinking. All this needs is time in the cellar. (Drink between 2024-2036). Antonio Galloni. |

JD 95 (8/2022): From an exceptionally windy, exposed site at 1800 feet, the 2020 Pinot Noir Cuvee Anabell is highly aromatic of fresh alpine herbs, wild raspberry, and fresh soil. The palate is more structured, with darker fruit of fresh red plum skin, turned earth, and spice. This wine will benefit from time in bottle to integrate its structure. Drink it over the next 15 years. VM 94 (8/2023): The 2020 Pinot Noir Annabelle is another seriously impressive wine in this range from Ceritas. It offers lovely depth and textural richness. Sweet red cherry, red plum, blood orange, menthol and spice all meld together in this very pretty Pinot. The 2020 was made from one of the two blocks Ceritas has here. (Drink between 2023-2028). Antonio Galloni. |

Elliott Vyd. Pinot Noir |
$69 |

| |
| VM 94 (1/2020): The 2018 Pinot Noir Elliott Vineyard is one of the more nervous, edgy wines in this lineup. Readers will want to give it a few years to soften, as it is reticent and tightly wound in the early going. Bright mineral and savory notes drive a core of sweet red berry fruit. When I taste the 2018 I think of a lyric tenor voice that, while maybe not big in size, has the resonance to be heard all the way in the cheap seats. The Elliot is a cool, introspective Pinot that will reward those who can spend some time with it. (Drink between 2022-2033). Antonio Galloni. |

Peter Martin Ray Vyd. Cabernet Sauvignon |
$75 |

|
| |
| VM 90 (2/2016): The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Peter Martin Ray Vineyard has developed into a very attractive, mid-weight wine. Grilled herbs, mint, licorice, dark red cherry and leather grace the palate in a feminine, gracious Cabernet Sauvignon with gorgeous Santa Cruz Mountains personality as well as distinct Pinot-leaning inflections. Antonio Galloni. |

2018 |
Rivina Vyd. Pinot Noir |
$74 |

|
| |
| VM 94 (1/2020): The 2018 Pinot Noir Rivina, a new offering in this range, is rich and wonderfully fleshy. A burst of sweet red/purplish berry fruit makes a strong first impression in a bold yet mid-weight Sonoma Coast Pinot that offers tons of immediacy and pure pleasure. Best of all, the Rivina can be enjoyed with minimal cellaring. Ceritas sources grapes from the Red Car Estate in Fort Ross-Seaview for this wine. It will be interesting to see where the Rivina goes in coming years. There is a feeling of density that is super intriguing. (Drink between 2021-2030). Antonio Galloni. |

Charles Heintz Vyd. Chardonnay |
$65 |
2 |
|
| |
| VM 93 (7/2018): Usually one of the more overt wines in the range, the 2016 Chardonnay Charles Heintz Vineyard gives the impression that it needs more time in bottle to be at its most expressive. As always, the Heintz is distinguished by its layered, creamy palate feel. The aromatics and fruit still need to emerge, but all the elements are nicely woven together. Even so, I expect the 2016 will always be a relatively understated Heintz Chardonnay. (Drink between 2018-2024). Antonio Galloni. |

| VM 92 (5/2014): (made from 44-year-old vines; all Wente clone on AXR rootstock): Pale gold. Pungent mineral- and herb-accented citrus and orchard fruit aromas, with a hint of ginger in the background. Fleshy but dry, offering bitter lemon pith and quince flavors that put on weight with air. Distinctly dry and tight on the finish, with the mineral and herb notes echoing. This nervy wine made me think of Sancerre, followed by Chablis, then both at the same time. Stephen Tanzer. |
