Cuvee Christine Syrah |

JD 96 (7/2017): There’s just over 900 cases of the 2013 Syrah Cuvee Christine and it’s 100% Syrah made with the idea to highlight the variety from Sonoma County. It has more minerality and savoriness than the Kobler Family as well as a darker, ruby color and incredible notes of gamey meats, black fruits, wood smoke, charcoal and pepper. With full-bodied richness, ripe tannin and a killer finish, this beauty has sensational purity of fruit and continues to gain depth and richness with time in the glass. It’s just another sensational Syrah from this team that rivals anything coming out of France or California today. |

Cuvee Moriah Proprietary Blend |

JD 93 (7/2017): The 2013 Cuvee Moriah is 87% Grenache and 13% Syrah that’s all from the Dry Stack Vineyard in the Bennett Valley. It has a gorgeous (as well as complex) bouquet of ripe cherries, cranberry, dried flowers and incense. This carries to an ethereally textured, elegant Grenache that that has sweet fruit, medium-bodied richness and a great finish. It’s not going to make old bones, but it’s going to be impossible to resist over the coming 4-5 years. This may be my favorite vintage of this cuvee to date. |

JD 97 (6/2018): I was also able to do a small retrospective of the Obsidian Vineyard, which was completely destroyed last year in the fires that ravaged Sonoma and Napa. The 2014 Syrah Obsidian Vineyard is broad and expansive, with a sexy, plush feel that’s in stark contrast to the 2015. Currants, peppery herbs, spice, full body, a stacked mid-palate, and sweet tannin define this sensational Syrah. |

JD 95+ (6/2018): The 2015 Syrah Obsidian Vineyard is another structured, tannic, backward 2015 from this estate. Smoked earth, Graves-like cold fireplace, lots of meatiness and ample dark fruit all emerge from this medium to full-bodied effort that has serious tannin, integrated acidity, and a great finish. The cellar is going to be your friend. |

Tripp’s Block Pinot Noir |

JD 93 (7/2017): Coming from the Perli Vineyard and brought up in 30% new French oak, the 2013 Pinot Noir Tripp’s Block offers slightly more fruit than the Two Brothers and gives up lots black cherry, black raspberry, forest floor and ground herbs. Medium to full-bodied, rich and nicely structured on the palate, with more tannin, give bottles a year or two and enjoy through 2027. WA 91 (3/2016): The 2013 Pinot Noir Tripp’s Block comes from the Perli Vineyard in the Mendocino Ridge. This is based on Dijon clones 667 and 777. It spends 18 months in oak, and the precentage of new oak is about 30%. A slightly larger-scaled, more savory wine than the Two Brothers, the wine exhibits a deep plum/ruby color and notes of sweet black cherry and berry fruit along with some underbrush and forest floor. The lovely texture is savory, round, juicy and very pure. This wine should drink well for up to a decade. VM 90 (2/2016): An addition to the range, the 2013 Pinot Noir Tripp's Block is delicate, lifted and graceful in its profile. Sage, mint and a host of floral/savory notes open up first. The 2013 is a very pretty wine, although it could use a little more depth through the mid-palate and finish. Antonio Galloni. |

Tripp’s Block Pinot Noir |

JD 91+ (7/2017): The light ruby colored 2014 Pinot Noir Tripp’s Block is terrific and shows a seamless, polished style that has surprising length. Raspberries, forest floor, spice and a hint of rose garden all emerge from the glass, and while it’s slightly reticent and backward, it has plenty of aromatic intensity. Shining on the palate, with beautiful tension and elegance, as well as impressive density, it’s a terrific wine that needs 2-3 years of cellaring and is going to age beautifully. |

VM 89 (1/2015): Crushed rose petals, raspberries, mint and cinnamon are some of the notes that lift from the glass in Donelan's 2012 Pinot Noir Two Brothers. I would prefer to drink the 2012 sooner rather than later. Over the last year, some of the radiance and sweetness that was present in barrel has faded. Antonio Galloni. |

Two Brothers Pinot Noir |

|
VM 91 (2/2016): The 2013 Pinot Noir Two Brothers is pretty, floral and lifted, all qualities that make it quite appealing for near and medium-term drinking. Crushed flowers, sweet red berries and cinnamon are all given an extra kick of savory lift from the 30% whole clusters. The Two Brothers is now a Sonoma County wine. Antonio Galloni. |

Venus Proprietary Blend (1.5 L) |
$119 |

|
|
JD 88 (6/2019): The 2015 Venus is cut from the same cloth yet doesn’t have the texture or density of the 2014. White currants, white peach, and citrus notes as well as a touch of salty minerality all emerge from this medium-bodied, elegant, streamlined white that’s going to continue drinking nicely for another 7-8 years (probably longer). |
