| VM 89 (12/2014): A big, dark wine, the 2012 Cabernet Franc possesses gorgeous depth. Mocha, blackberry jam, cloves and leather all wrap around the super-expressive finish. The Cabernet Franc offers the early approachability of the year along with a bit more structure than the Merlot. As always, there is a bit of Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend, 17% in this vintage. Antonio Galloni. |

| VM 89 (12/2016): The 2014 Cabernet Franc offers lovely depth and immediacy, with plenty of dark stone fruit, mocha, spice and leather nuances. Soft, supple and expressive, the 2014 is an excellent choice for near term drinking. It would be nice to see a little more varietal character. |

WA 90 (12/2009): The top end offerings include the 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon. Last year I reviewed the 2005 (although it was listed as the 2006), which did not turn out nearly as well as the 2006. The deep ruby/purple-hued 2006 exhibits notes of cassis, tar, crushed rocks, chocolate, and berry fruit in a full-bodied, fleshy format. It should drink nicely for a decade. VM 89 (6/2009): Medium ruby-red. Subdued aromas of plum, currant, tar, earth, roasted herbs and cedary spices. The palate offers better definition and energy than the merlot, with nicely perfumed mountain berry and cedar flavors offering sneaky intensity. Finishes with a serious dusting of tannins and good life and length. |

| VM 92 (10/2015): Pride's 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon is soft, creamy and voluptuous. Sweet cherry, rose petal, mint, plum, cinnamon, new leather and cedar open up effortlessly in the glass, with silky tannins that add to the wine's sheer appear. The Cabernet Sauvignon captures the open-knit, radiant personality of the vintage to the fullest. Antonio Galloni. |

| VM 90 (12/2016): Pride's 2014 Merlot is nicely lifted and aromatically expressive. Bright red stone fruit and floral notes are two of the signatures. This is a decidedly feminine, gracious Merlot. Soft tannins add to the wine's considerable near and medium term appeal. |

Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon |

WA 94 (10/2014): There are 1,374 cases of the 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve, which spent 22 months in 40% new French oak. It exhibits classic notes of new saddle leather, unsmoked cigar tobacco, red and blackcurrants, and loamy soil undertones in a full-bodied, intense, opulent, fleshy style. 85% came from Sonoma County and 15% from Napa County. This beauty is on a fast evolutionary track, so drink it during its first 7-8 years of life. VM 93+ (12/2014): Pride's 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve is another exceptional wine from this vintage. The cool, late harvest yielded a slightly restrained wine, yet the 2011 Reserve impresses for its balance and overall harmony. Grilled herbs, tobacco and lavender flesh out on the super-expressive, pliant finish. The 2011 could use another year in bottle, but I wouldn't plan on cellaring it for more than a decade give or take. Once the tannins soften, the 2011 will drink nicely for at least a handful of years. VM 90 (6/2015): (14.4% alcohol; the fruit was picked until November 28 "without botrytis," said Steve Pride, adding that 2011 was "the coldest year in our history"): Bright, saturated medium ruby. Precise aromas and flavors of blackberry, licorice, spices, menthol and espresso accented by flinty minerality, pepper and fresh herbs. Juicy, tight and on the lean side, given a distinctly savory character by slightly peppery acidity. Boasts very good definition, grip and underlying structure--not to mention good length--but will this very cool Cabernet gain in complexity with bottle aging? |

Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon |

| JD 98 (1/2020): Starting with the two 2016s and another tremendous wine from this estate, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve comes 67% from Napa Valley and 33% from Sonoma County. Based on 96% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Petit Verdot, it's ruby/purple hue is followed by a classic Pride Cabernet offering notes of blackcurrants, lead pencil, espresso, camphor, new saddle leather, and spicy oak. Beautifully concentrated, full-bodied, and with ripe tannins, it has nothing out of place, offers a multi-dimensional, layered texture, and builds incrementally on the palate, with flawless balance. It shows the more nuanced, classical style of the 2016 vintage and will cruise in cool cellars for two decades. |

Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon |

VM 95 (1/2022): Pride's flagship 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve is going to need a number of years to come around. Black cherry, plum, spice, new leather, licorice, lavender and mocha all open with a bit of time. This deceptively mid-weight Cabernet packs plenty of mountain punch. The Reserve is not an obvious wine, especially in comparison with what these wines were like a few years ago. (Drink between 2025-2038). Antonio Galloni. JD 94+ (5/2022): Lastly, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve can be thought of as the top cuvée, and in 2018 it's 94% Cabernet Sauvignon and 6% Petit Verdot. Its deep purple hue is followed by a powerful, medium to full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon that builds beautifully in the glass, with ripe yet present tannins and integrated acidity all giving it an age-worthy feel. Classic crème de cassis, graphite, scorched earth, and tobacco all define the aromatics. The balance is spot on, but like many 2018s, the cellar is going to be your friend. Do your best to hide bottles for 4-5 years, and it's going to drink brilliantly for two decades. (Drink between 2026-2047). |

| VM 93 (12/2023): The 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon Vintner Select is a very nice wine, especially for the year. Strong floral and spice notes make a strong opening statement. Most of this fruit is Clone 337, which very much comes through in the wine's aromatic profile and pliant feel. Red/purplish fruit, lavender, spice, pomegranate and blood orange lend notable freshness and vibrancy throughout. This is beautifully done. The tannins are a bit grainy, but not bad. (Drink between 2023-2030). Antonio Galloni. |

Vintner Select Cuvee Merlot |

WA 94 (12/2018): Made from 100% Merlot, the medium to deep garnet-purple colored 2015 Merlot Vintner's Select is flamboyantly scented of warmed black plums, blueberry compote, candied violets and exotic spices with hints of garrigue, fertile loam, licorice and black tea. Medium to full-bodied, the generous black fruits are beautifully perfumed with floral hints and framed by velvety tannins, finishing long and decadently spicy. JD 91 (3/2019): The 2015 Merlot is a charming effort, offering attractive red currants, mulled plums, licorice, and dried herb aromas and flavors. It’s medium-bodied, nicely textured, has moderate tannins, and outstanding length. It’s not a blockbuster, but it’s elegant and nicely balanced. Drink it any time over the coming 7-8 years. VM 89 (12/2018): The 2015 Merlot Vintner Select shows the personality of the vintage in its super-ripe profile and amped up red cherry jam, chocolate and sweet spice flavors. The 2015 will appeal most to readers who like flamboyant wines. I find the super-ripe, sweet style a bit much, given that these wines already have so much intensity to begin with. (Drink between 2020-2027). Antonio Galloni. |

Vintner Select Cuvee Merlot |

| VM 88 (12/2023): The 2020 Merlot Vintner Select shows the heat of the season and a wilder edge in its super-ripe dark fruit, tobacco, worn-in leather, iron, blood, espresso, game, incense and licorice nuances. There's a pretty strong oak imprint and prominent torrefaction notes. The balance here is not optimal—this blend is missing a block of Merlot, the last to ripen, that was lost to the wildfires of 2020. (Drink between 2023-2028). Antonio Galloni. |

| VM 93 (1/2021): The 2019 Chardonnay Vintner Select offers lovely density and oiliness, all while staying light on its feet. Tangerine oil, mint, yellow flowers and pear give the 2019 terrific vertical depth. This is such a pretty and expressive Chardonnay. (Drink between 2021-2027). Antonio Galloni. |
