WA 96-100 (12/2007): Made from his vineyards and harvested grape by grape rather than bunch by bunch, the 2005 Precious borders on perfection. A wine of great depth, symmetry, layered complexity, and opulence, the wine boasts stunning concentration, richness, and length. It is similar to the 2005 Kayli Morgan. VM 94 (6/2009): (15.5% alcohol; this was made from press wine from Kayli Morgan vineyard, bottled after a full three years in barrel) Good deep red. Deeper, oakier aromas of musky redcurrant, licorice and graphite. Bigger and even lusher than the regular 2005 Kayli Morgan, but with a more exotic character and less energy. Somehow, this mellow, polished wine avoids coming off as heavy. Finishes with fairly serious tannins and suggestions of dried fruits. Stephen Tanzer. |

| WA 94 (12/2018): Deep garnet colored, the 2007 Ancient Way Vineyard Summer's Vineyard sings of preserved plums, Christmas pudding, figs and incense with suggestions of spice cake, licorice and Morello cherries plus a waft of tobacco. Rich, spicy and full-bodied in the mouth, it offers an alluring texture of soft, rounded tannins and just enough freshness, finishing very long and with loads of savory nuances coming through. |
