| VM 89 (11/1999): Full red-ruby. Raspberry, mint and fresh herbs on the nose; showed a slight dill note with aeration. Supple and lush, with intriguing hints of charred meat, smoke and leather to go with the currant and raspberry flavors. Rather stylish wine, with satisfying sweetness and a layered texture like right-bank Bordeaux. Quite ripe for '95, but with plenty of underlying structure. Stephen Tanzer. |
