| VM 92 (12/2016): Vivid ruby-red. Complex aromas of ripe red and blue fruits, candied rose, cola and oak spices. Sweet and broad on the palate, offering juicy black raspberry, boysenberry and spicecake flavors that are given spine and sharpened by a jolt of zesty acidity. Round, even tannins shape the sweet, velvety finish, which hangs on with impressive tenacity. Josh Raynolds. |

WA 94 (10/2004): The concentration, depth, power, and elegance of the 2002 Pinot Noir Les Dijonnais is stunning, all the more so when one realizes it was produced from 7-year-old fruit (conventional wisdom is that vines can make great fruit in the first two years of production then the quality diminishes for a few years before coming back when they’re older). Its black cherry, spice, and violet aromas lead to a penetrating personality awash in red fruits, mostly cherries and raspberries, that harmoniously conquer the palate and linger for 45 seconds or more. Sappy, fleshy, and complex, it is a medium to full-bodied wine of tremendous beauty and charm. Anticipated maturity: 2006-2013. Bravo! BH 91 (12/2004): This is an elegant, pure and delineated wine from start to finish with gorgeously spicy aromas of plum, raspberry and subtle earth hints that merge into sweet, delicious and impressively precise flavors displaying outstanding length. This is less obviously ripe than many '02s reviewed here with impeccable balance and sufficient underlying structure to suggest at least 10 years of potential. Highly recommended. Drink 2009+. |

| WA 92 (6/2016): After ten years, the 2006 Pinot Noir les Dijonnais appears to have a more youthful visage compared to the 2007. The nose is well defined with black cherries, iodine and oyster shell aromas that unfurl in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with fresh acidity, quite structured in the mouth, the tannins exerting an insistent grip, very saline towards the finish that delivers both a pastille-like purity and a twist of bitterness. This is an intriguing ten-year-old wine that should continue to give drinking pleasure over the next 6-10 years. |

WA 93 (6/2016): The 2014 Pinot Noir les Dijonnais was picked on 14 September and over the ensuing four days at 24 Brix, partially destemmed and undergoing a four-day cold maceration before maturation in 35% new French oak barrels. It has a very refined and delineated bouquet with brambly red berry fruit, cranberry and wild strawberry mixed with subtle sous-bois notes. It might sound cliched, but it is very Burgundian in style. The palate is medium-bodied with refined, crisp redcurrant and cranberry fruit, neatly integrated new oak that will require another 12-18 months to be fully integrated, with very satisfying substance on the finish. This is exquisite. VM 93 (12/2016): Brilliant red. A highly perfumed and incisive bouquet evokes fresh red berries, Asian spices and candied rose, along with a zesty mineral overtone. Juicy, focused and light on its feet, especially in the context of the vintage, offering intense strawberry, cherry and blood orange flavors that deepen slowly on the back half. Clings with strong tenacity on the finish, leaving a suave floral pastille note behind. Josh Raynolds. |
