BH 92 (10/2015): (2007 was a very early harvest for Delamotte starting on August 30 for chardonnay, SRP $112.) There is plenty of yeast character to the beautifully layered lemon zest, spice, brioche and baked bread aromas. The impressive depth continues onto the very yeasty, concentrated and relatively powerful flavors that possess good richness on the rounded and generously proportioned but not really creamy finale that is accurately described as medium dry. What this is not, is a wine of finesse but I certainly do like the full, even bold flavors that deliver plenty of depth. Drink now+. VM 92 (7/2015): Delamotte’s 2007 Blanc de Blancs is deep, fleshy and seductive, with lovely textural depth and nuance throughout. The 2007 is a relatively soft, open-knit Delamotte that will drink well upon release. I especially admire the wine's sense of balance and overall proportion, two of the many qualities that give the 2007 its considerable appeal. Antonio Galloni. WA 91 (6/2016): Sourced from grands crus, the 2007 Blanc de Blancs offers a clear and chalky flavored bouquet of lemons and limes on chalk. Full-bodied, very fresh and elegant on the palate, this is a pure and mineral, tension-filled Champagne. It has purity, freshness and a lot of salt in the finish. This shows stunning freshness and mineral expression for a 2007. What a stunning 2007! WS 91 (7/2015): A firm Champagne, softened by the creamy mousse that carries floral and fresh herb notes lacing tightly knit flavors of pippin apple, kumquat and smoke-tinged minerality. Drink now through 2020. 10,000 cases made. |

| VM 94 (7/2019): Delamotte’s 2012 Brut Vintage is rich, creamy and super-expressive. This is only the second vintage (the first was 2008) in which fruit from Oiry rounds out the classic core of Le Mesnil, Oger and Cramant that forms the backbone of the Vintage. Dried pear, white flowers, chamomile and mint are some of the notes that grace this exquisite understated Blanc de Blancs. The 2012 offers terrific depth and textural resonance in a creamy, expressive style that captures the radiant personality of the year and the understated, quiet voice that is such a Delamotte signature. Antonio Galloni. |

JD 94 (11/2022): A blend of the six Grand Cru villages of the Cote de Blancs, with 6.5 grams per liter dosage, the 2014 Champagne Blanc de Blancs Brut is fresh and precise, with aromas of vibrant green apple, pleasant reduction with flint, and delicate smoke, citrus blossoms, and wet stone. The transition to the palate is seamless and linear, with crisp and crunchy green fruit, and is electric with lime candy, a refined mousse, and a chalky texture. It warrants more time before opening, but it is delicious and refreshing now. Drink over 2023-2043. Audrey Frick. WA 94 (9/2021): Delamotte's just-released 2014 Blanc de Blancs has turned out very well indeed, opening in the glass with scents of citrus zest, crisp orchard fruit, fresh bread and wet stones. Medium to full-bodied, chiseled and incisive, with excellent depth at the core, racy acids and a chalky finish, this isn't as muscular as the 2008 or 2012, but it has real cut and persistence and should age very gracefully indeed. VM 94 (11/2021): The 2014 Blanc de Blancs is seriously impressive. Ample in feel, Delamotte is especially rich in 2014, and yet there is plenty of freshness to balance things out. This is an especially savory style for Delamotte, and one that works so well. Dried lemon peel, pastry, almond, dried herbs and chamomile open in a beautifully translucent Blanc des Blancs that marries power and finesse. I can’t wait to see how it ages. Antonio Galloni. |

BH 92 (10/2024): The elevated heat of the 2018 vintage is manifest on the ripe aromas of citrus confit, poached pear, baked apple and quinine-scented nose. There is good richness allied with good verve to the moderately generous medium-bodied flavors where the supporting mousse is also moderate while remaining relatively fine before terminating in an acceptably complex, nice dry and sneaky long finale. For my taste this needs more depth and while it certainly could already be enjoyed, I would advise allowing to slumber for another 4 to 6 years first. VM 91 (3/2024): The 2018 Brut Blanc de Blancs is a blend of fruit from Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Avize, Oger, Cramant, Chouilly and Oiry, six villages in the Côte des Blancs. Crushed rocks, mint, slate, lemon peel and green pear lend notable freshness. Like most wines in this vintage, the Blanc de Blancs is airy and medium-bodied in structure, but it shows lovely tension and fine balance. There's plenty of Delamotte class, in an understated style. Dosage is 6 grams per liter. Antonio Galloni. |
