| VM 93+ (3/2012): Medium red, a bit lighter than the Clos Saint-Jacques. Captivating raspberry, spice and wild herb aromas are accented by blood orange and an exotic whiff of white fruits. Wonderfully bright and intense for 2009, showing an almost saline impression of extract to the bitter cherry and mineral flavors. Much more imploded than it was from barrel, this very long, strongly mineral but slightly disjointed grand cru calls for eight to ten years of cellaring. Stephen Tanzer. |

WA 94 (10/2018): Bruno Clair's 2015 Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru was showing very well, wafting from the glass with a classy bouquet of ripe cherries and dried flowers, complemented by sapid, savory nuances of soy and smoked duck. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, supple and satiny, with a deceptively open-knit, succulent profile that I suspect is more a function of the wine's structural finesse than it is any lack of seriousness. This is an elegant, classically balanced Clos de Bèze that may well prove to be a sleeper of the vintage. VM 94 (11/2018): The 2015 Chambertin Clos-de-Bèze Grand Cru has an initially slightly disjointed bouquet that comes together nicely with aeration. I like the purity here, and the oak is beautifully integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grained tannin, judicious acidity and wonderful precision as it crescendoes in a detailed finish. Yes, there is a veneer of new oak to be absorbed, but there is enormous potential. Long-term and quite regal. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting. Neal Martin. BH 96 (1/2018): This too is cool, elegant, spicy and even more complex with its range of airy red berries, underbrush, earth, sandalwood and anise nuances. There is excellent richness, power and mid-palate density to the big-bodied but not massive flavors that exhibit a subtle minerality on the mouth coating and hugely long finish. This is certainly an imposing wine yet the mouthfeel is one of class and grace and interestingly for such a young Bèze, there is virtually no austerity. Wow. |

VM 91 (4/2015): The 2012 Chambolle-Musigny is wonderfully alive and layered in the glass. Hard candy, freshly cut flowers and sweet spices are super-expressive . The 2012 is translucent and beautifully perfumed throughout, with lovely balance and tons of class. Simply put, this is a delicious village-level Burgundy. BH 89 (1/2014): An exceptionally fresh, cool and refined melange of various dark berries tinged with hints of spice, sandalwood and a soft floral element. There is an equally cool and restrained palate impression to the highly energetic medium-bodied flavors that brim with an almost pungent minerality on the firm, serious, mouth coating and dusty finish. This is a very good Chambolle villages and worth considering. Drink 2019+. Outstanding Top Value! WA 89-91 (12/2013): The 2012 Chambolle-Musigny Les Veroilles has a refined, gracefully pure redcurrant and raspberry-scented bouquet. The palate is sweet and candied with succulent, fleshy tannins and a generous sweet finish that is Vosne-like in style. This is very fine and the gentle crescendo in the mouth bodes well for the future. |

| BH 90-92 (1/2017): This offers a step up in aromatic complexity with its spicy and floral-scented nose of both red and dark cherry, earth and soft tea nuances. There is also excellent volume to the stony, rich and vibrant medium-bodied flavors that terminate in a mildly austere finish that is shaped by dense but fine tannins. This too will require at least some patience and should reward 10+ years of cellaring. (Drink 2025+) |

| BH 87-89 (1/2015): (from a .93 ha parcel of 60+ year old vines.) An openly spicy and ultra-cool nose features notes of red and blue pinot fruit, rose petal and sandalwood hints. There is a sleek and beautifully detailed mouth feel to the delicious, intense mineral-driven middle weight flavors that culminate in a mildly edgy but persistent finish that is probably due to the high level of gas present. My predicted range offers the benefit of the doubt in this regard. Drink 2019+. |
