| VM 94+ (3/2016): Bright, dark red. Highly expressive tangy scents of cherry, wild strawberry, pomegranate, crushed stone and mint. Superrich, tactile, dense and chewy yet light on its feet. Conveys a powerful sense of dry extract and outstanding clarity and cut to its flavors of raspberry, cherry and minerals. The 2014 version shows riper, blacker fruits while this is more about acidulated wild red berries. Wonderfully silky, smooth wine with outstanding energy and thrust. | BH 92 (1/2015): An intensely earthy and overtly sauvage nose that is very Gevrey in basic character displays notes of somber and cool wild red and dark currant aromas. There is Outstanding intensity to the firm and muscular middle weight flavors that exude a very fine minerality on the long, mouth coating and beautifully persistent finish. A Gevrey 1er of power and harmony that is quite compact at the moment and will need at least 5 to 7 years of cellar time to further flesh out. Drink 2022+. Outstanding! |
