WA 94 (4/2012): The 2009 Clos de Vougeot-Musigny is a beautifully centered wine that expresses the personality of the vintage while retaining plenty of freshness. An exotic concoction of racy, floral-infused raspberries, spices, mint, rose petals and hard candy emerges from this seductive, alluring Burgundy. This is a flamboyant wine full of intrigue for the future. The open, radiant finish is backed up by plenty of energy. Anticipated maturity: 2019-2029. WS 92 (5/2012): Sandalwood, burning vine cuttings, dill and cherry flavors abound in this beefy red. This is almost lacy in texture, until the firm tannins take over, asserting their grip on the long finish. A masculine style that needs time. Best from 2016 through 2032. 40 cases imported. BH 91-93 (1/2011): ( from a 1.5 ha parcel that was replanted sequentially - 1985, 1988 and 1989; the wine carries the qualifier of Musigni because it comes from a parcel of vines at the top of Clos de Vougeot, directly across from the vineyard of Musigny). Here the less obviously oaked nose runs more toward the red side of the fruit spectrum before merging into rich and seductively textured broad-shouldered flavors that are also blessed with ample amounts of dry extract that renders the supporting tannins almost invisible on the detailed, youthfully austere and solidly persistent finish. Drink 2019+. |

| BH 91 (1/2007): The most refined and elegant wine here with surprisingly forward and expressive red and black pinot fruit aromas and textured, sweet, sappy and nicely concentrated full-bodied flavors supported by a firm but not aggressive tannic spine and excellent length. This is really a lovely example with good overall balance and while it's not a genuinely great Richebourg, it will certainly give much pleasure over the next 15 to 20 years yet drink well early. Drink 2011+. |

| BH 94 (1/2012): ( from a .7 ha parcel that was partially replanted in 1985 and the remainder in 1989.) A restrained but elegant and very floral nose also speaks of red currant, plum, blue berry and hoisin is trimmed in a relatively curtailed application of oak. The equally reserved but powerful and big-bodied flavors brim with dry extract that renders the dense tannins less obvious than they would otherwise be on the firm and hugely long finish. This is a big but classy effort that should require around 15 years to arrive at its full majority. Drink 2024+. |
