| BH 90 (1/2024): A gorgeously elegant and perfumed nose is comprised by the pure essence of red cherries laced with spice, green tea and earth nuances plus a floral top note. The equally pure, lacy and attractively tension-filled middleweight flavors possess a sophisticated mouthfeel thanks to the fine-grained tannins shaping the punchy and youthfully austere if slightly short finale. This may well better harmonize but at present, it's not quite as well-balanced as the best in the range. (Drink starting 2031). |

WA 93 (1/2016): The 2010 Nuits Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Chaignots from Mugneret-Gibourg has a pretty, generous and quite detailed bouquet with red plum and dark cherries, fine mineralite and a palpable sense of energy. The palate is medium-bodied with supple red and black fruit, silky smooth in texture with a ripe and beautifully balanced finish that still needs a couple of years to reach its peak. This is a fabulous Chaignots from Mugneret-Gibourg. BH 91 (1/2013): This displays a layered combination of pungent earth, natural spice notes, black currant and plum, all of which is trimmed in a deft application of oak. The delicious, intense and vibrant flavors possess a sophisticated mouth feel as the supporting tannins are dense but fine, all wrapped in a delicious and lingering finish. Despite the refinement of the mid-palate the Nuits muscle shows up on the finish though there is no rusticity. Drink 2018+. Outstanding! VM 91 (3/2013): Bright, deep red. Redcurrant, spices and smoky oak on the rather subdued nose. In a distinctly sunnier style than the village Vosne, with strong soil tones to the musky spice and red fruit flavors. Finishes smoky, saline, tactile and long, with substantial dusty tannins. I don't find quite the eclat of the Vosne villages; despite this wine's firm finish, I'd be tempted to drink it first. Stephen Tanzer. |

VM 93 (3/2014): Mugneret-Gibourg's 2011 Nuits-Saint-Georges Les Chaignots is remarkably polished and refined in this vintage. Sweet rose petals, spices and red berries emerge from a gracious Burgundy that shows the more finessed side of Nuits. This is one of the more classically structured 2011s readers will come across. Today, the Chaignots is drop-dead gorgeous. Dried rose petals, sage, mint and crushed raspberries linger on the close. Antonio Galloni. WA 93 (11/2014): Tasted blind at the Burgundy 2011 horizontal tasting in Beaune. I appreciate the purity and floral nature of Mugneret-Gibourg’s Nuits Saint Georges 1er Cru Chaignots, which is well defined and seems to blossom on the glass. It feels natural and nicely focused, plenty of mulberry and raspberry fruit emerging as it opens. The palate is very well balanced with supple red cherries, spice, gingerbread and white pepper - a really cerebral Les Chaignots. There is very good weight here, the finish blessed with roiling intensity. Excellent. BH 92 (1/2014): A discreet application of wood allows the ripe aromas of cassis, earth and black cherry to be appreciated. The suave, round and opulent flavors possess a very supple and accessible mid-palate before culminating in a mouth coating and lingering finish that evidences just a hint of rusticity. Excellent. Drink 2021+. Outstanding! |

| BH 88 (1/2016): ( from 5 different parcels located in La Columbière, Champs Goudins and Le Pre de la Folie, which are contiguous vineyards located below the village and above the Route Nationale.) A discreet touch of wood sets off spicy herbal tea and red and dark pinot fruit scents. There is a sleek mouth feel to the delicious and vibrant medium-bodied flavors that are shaped by ripe tannins on the reasonably well-balanced, complex and lingering finish. This is a lovey Vosne villages that will require at least a few years of bottle age so that this can further flesh out. Drink 2021+. |
