WS 90 (12/2007): Spicy cola, black cherry and cassis fruit is rich and supple yet almost syrupy, with a nice range of flavors and a hint of pencil lead and cedary oak on the finish. Drink now through 2011. 320 cases made. VM 88+ (6/2006): Ruby-red. Musky aromas of black cherry, blackberry, tar, pepper and game. Sweet and dense if a bit youthfully reduced, with solid, chunky fruit lifted by spice and pepper notes. Finishes with rather powerful but slightly dry tannins. I suspect this will be more harmonious by the time it's released in the spring of 2007. |

Garys Vyd. Pinot Noir |

|
WA 94 (10/2014): One of my favorites in the lineup, the 2012 Pinot Noir Garys' Vineyard shows its 15% whole cluster fermentation with the darker fruit, ground pepper, herbs and background meatiness that shows on the nose. A rich, full-flavored, yet still seamless and elegant Pinot Noir, it has solid underlying structure and beautiful focus that comes through on the finish. It can be consumed anytime over the coming 5-7 years. VM 93 (1/2015): The 2012 Pinot Noir Garys' Vineyard is the most complete of the four Santa Lucia Highlands Pinots. Beautifully layered in the glass, the Garys' offers lovely mid-palate juiciness and plenty of generosity. Dark red cherry, mint, violet and spice overtntes add nuance on a creamy, expressive finish. Antonio Galloni. WS 90 (9/2014): An elegant, graceful style, with red berry, strawberry and watermelon notes that are also quite firm and concentrated, ending with a long, lingering finish. Drink now through 2022. 776 cases made. |

WA 91 (10/2015): One of the more tight and backwards efforts from this vineyard, the 2013 Pinot Noir Garys’ Vineyard was mostly destemmed (19% whole clusters) and aged 16 months in 46% new French oak. Medium-bodied, focused and downright racy on the palate, it still has some whole cluster notes in its sappy spring flowers, cassis and black raspberry-scented bouquet. It’s a beautiful wine, but needs 2-3 years of cellaring. |

JS 95 (5/2017): Aromas of red rock, rust and dark berry character. Some stone. Full body, four square. Tangerine. Wonderful finish. Love the length and energy. Drink now. JD 93 (10/2017): The largest scaled of the Santa Lucia Highland releases, the 2015 Pinot Noir Garys' Vineyard is another beautiful, elegant wine (that’s the style of the vintage) from this team that still has plenty of fruit. Offering lots of spice, framboise, dried flowers, scrub brush, and earth, it's elegant and silky on the palate, with medium to full-bodied richness and a great mid-palate. Made with roughly 25% whole clusters, it's a terrific expression of this site to drink over the coming 7-8 years. VM 92 (8/2017): The 2015 Pinot Noir Garys' Vineyard is the most expressive of the Santa Lucia Highlands Pinots. Racy red-toned fruit, orange peel and attractive aromatic lift from the whole clusters give the wine its distinctive personality. Silky and aromatic, the 2015 has a lot to offer. A dollop of whole clusters (20%) adds aromatic nuance throughout. Antonio Galloni. WS 92 (9/2017): Offers a wide range of complex flavors, extending from herb to spice to wild berry, turning to shadings of wilted rose and subtle earth. Drink now through 2023. 555 cases made. |

|
WA 95 (10/2015): From the Russian River Valley and the newest single vineyard from this team (the first vintage was 2012), the 2013 Pinot Noir Giusti Vineyard is another big, rich, full-flavored Pinot Noir that gives up slightly lifted notes of dark fruits, graphite and peppery spice. Almost completely destemmed and aged 16 months in 40% new French oak, it’s a sensational Pinot Noir with terrific purity in its concentrated, layered and textured personality. It's superb today, but will cruise through at least 2023. |

|
JD 96 (10/2017): One of the gems in this stacked lineup, the 2015 Pinot Noir Giusti Ranch is about as big, rich, and concentrated as they come in 2015, which generally yielded more elegant wines. Its deeper ruby/plum color is followed by a powerful, full-flavored 2015 that has beautiful notes of cassis, toasted spice, caramelized cherries and candied violets. Gorgeously rich and textured, with a voluptuous texture, no hard edges and a great finish, it will keep for a decade or more. JS 96 (5/2017): Extremely opulent and vivid on the nose with blackberry, blueberry and flower. Full body, velvety tannins and wonderful energy. Vivid and powerful. Real Russian River pinot with a modern clarity. Drink or hold. VM 93+ (8/2017): Always one of the most distinctive wines in the range, the 2015 Pinot Noir Giusti Ranch packs a serious punch. Black cherry, plum, lavender, spice, menthol licorice and dark spices imbue the Giusti with real personality and class. The 2015 has ample broad shoulders and tons of personality, all in a decidedly dark, powerful style. Antonio Galloni. WS 93 (9/2017): Dark, rich and vivid, with anise-shaded blackberry, licorice, berry pie, sweet plum and cherry notes that coat the palate and fan out gracefully. Has the substance and drive to further excite and reward. Drink now through 2023. 998 cases made. |

|
VM 93 (1/2015): Freshly cut flowers, sweet red berries, blood orange and cinnamon are all laced together in the 2012 Pinot Noir Kanzler Vineyard. Bright, floral and lifted throughout, with terrific energy, the Kanzler impresses for its gracious personality. This is a decidedly feminine, gracious wine built on floral aromatics and nuance. Rose petal, lavender and mint are some of the signatures. The Kanzler is one of the most impressive wines in this range. Antonio Galloni. WS 93 (9/2014): Focused on a rich core of dark berry, raspberry and savory dried herb notes, this gains depth and dimension midpalate on, ending with a potent mix of vivid flavors supported by fine-grained tannins. Drink now through 2022. 781 cases made. WA 92 (10/2014): Showing a fresh, perfumed and graceful style, the 2012 Pinot Noir Kanzler Vineyard possesses sweet berry fruits, damp underbrush, spring flowers and light spice in its delicate, sweetly fruited personality. It doesn't quite have the depth of the other wines here, but it has a lively, pure texture and excels on its balance and harmony. Already hard to resist, plan on drinking this over the coming 3-5 years. |

|
WA 93 (10/2015): The last vineyard harvested, the 2013 Pinot Noir Kanzler Vineyard, wasn’t brought in until between the 8th and 11th of October. Mostly destemmed and aged 16 months in just under 40% new French oak, it has a cool, fresh, perfumed style to go with lots of rose garden, framboise, black cherry and spice. Lightly textured, elegant and vibrant, it should benefit from a year in bottle and drink well through 2023. |

Keefer Ranch Vyd. Pinot Noir |

|
WA 92 (10/2014): Classic in style, with pretty red berry styled fruits, assorted spring flowers, white pepper and loads of baking spices (all-spice, cinnamon, clove), the 2012 Pinot Noir Keefer Ranch Vineyard comes from the Green Valley appellation in the southwestern part of the Russian River Valley. It has a beautiful core of sweet fruit, medium-bodied richness, and a lively, fresh feel on the palate, with an emphasis on elegance and texture over power and richness. Much more on the pretty end of the spectrum, I don't think this will make old bones, but it's a wonderful drink today. Enjoy bottles over the coming 4-5 years. WS 91 (9/2014): Generous, focused flavors of spicy plum and wild berry notes are at the core, with firm tannins. Well-proportioned, ending with supple wilted rose and raspberry accents that are clean and persistent. Drink now through 2022. 1,355 cases made. VM 90 (1/2015): As is often the case, the 2012 Pinot Noir Keefer Ranch Vineyard is one of the more supple, open wines in the range. Dark red cherries, sweet spices, licorice, tobacco and smoke add nuance as this juicy, resonant Pinot shows off its racy, caressing personality. Ideally, readers will want to drink the Keefer over the next few years, while the flavors remain vibrant and punchy. Antonio Galloni. |

WA 95 (10/2015): The 2013 Pinot Noir Keefer Ranch Vineyard comes from a 20-acre site in the Russian River Valley, acquired by this team two years ago. Harvest between September 20th and October 7th, completely destemmed and aged 16 months in 55% new French oak, it has awesome richness and freshness in its cassis, black raspberry, crushed rock and subtle vanilla bean/sweet oak bouquet. This gives way to a rich, layered, elegant red that has the balance and class to evolve nicely for a decade. VM 92 (5/2015): A juicy, exuberant wine, the 2013 Pinot Noir Keefer Ranch is all about textbook Russian River exuberance and voluptuousness. This is the first vintage in which the clonal blend incorporates dollops of Calera and Swan, which seem to add layers and textures to the forward, bold fruit. This is a very pretty Keefer Pinot from Kosta Browne. WS 92 (8/2015): This is firm and well-centered on ripe plum, black cherry and raspberry flavors, this is clean, trim and persistent on the finish. Good now, but should be better in a year. Drink now through 2022. 1,385 cases made. |

JS 96 (5/2017): Rust, rock and stone. Blueberry and blackberry. Very aromatic. Full to medium body, tight and linear. Racy and so fine. Tangy acidity. Needs two to three years to soften. But a fascinating wine now to taste. JD 95 (10/2017): From a site purchased by the team in 2012, the 2015 Pinot Noir Keefer Ranch comes from the heart of the Green Valley (this is the classic Goldridge soils, as well as smaller amount of clay). Completely destemmed in 2015 and aged 75% in a mix of wood or concrete. Its ruby color is followed by a perfumed, lifted bouquet of caramelized plums, raspberries, flowers, exotic spices and blood orange. Powerful and concentrated, yet still light on its feet and gracefully, with fine tannin and integrated acidity, it’s a seriously good Pinot Noir from this team that’s going to evolve through 2025. VM 94 (8/2017): The 2015 Pinot Noir Keefer Ranch is a gorgeous and super-expressive wine in which all of the elements come together, unlike some of the other 2015s that are a bit aggressive at this stage, the Keefer is wonderfully expressive, nuanced and inviting. Red fruit, blood orange, mint and sweet spice notes add to the wine's considerable appeal. If I had an opportunity to buy any of these wines, the Keefer would be at or near the top of my list. The 2015 is an especially refined Russian River Pinot. Antonio Galloni. WS 90 (9/2017): A wine of substance and finesse, full of supple earth, gravel-laced berry and plum flavors. A charmer. Drink now through 2022. 2,238 cases made. |

VM 92 (5/2012): Bright ruby-red. Heady aromas of strawberry, cherry-cola, potpourri and spicy oak. Silky, sweet and seamless, with superb depth and energy to its red berry and floral pastille flavors. Extremely suave pinot that shows excellent energy and clarity on the persistent, floral finish. WS 92 (8/2012): Complex cherry, plum and raspberry flavors are ripe, moderately rich and layered, turning delicate and elegant, where the plummy flavors reverberate. WS 93 (9/2013): Zeros in on a tight core of vivid dark berry, with touches of wild berry, raspberry and blueberry shaded by creamy oak. Gains velocity and depth, ending with a long, persistent finish. Drink now through 2022. 637 cases made. VM 92 (2/2014): The 2011 Pinot Noir Koplen Vineyard is a wine of real density and power. Big and broad shouldered, the 2011 blossoms in the glass beautifully, filling out its frame very nicely. Plums, black cherries, cloves, menthol and licorice are all woven into the juicy, enveloping finish. The Koplen could use another year or two in bottle to fully come together. Antonio Galloni. |

WA 93 (10/2014): The 2012 Pinot Noir Koplen Vineyard has an edgy, vibrant feel with its plum and sweet black cherry fruits, charred spices and licorice giving way to hints of spring flowers and mint. Layered, beautifully pure and defined, with bight, yet integrated acidity, it needs another year in the cellar, and will impress through 2020. VM 91 (1/2015): Sweet tobacco, mint, crushed flowers and red cherries are all laced together in the 2012 Pinot Noir Koplen Vineyard. The inclusion of 20% whole clusters give the wine an attractive sense of brightness that is felt in both the expressive aromatics and saline notes that underpin the fruit. I would prefer to drink this soft, mid-weight wine over the next handful of years. Antonio Galloni. WS 89 (9/2014): The tannins hold a tight grip on this gravel-laced mix of ripe plum and raspberry flavors, veering toward the dry side, with enough fruit vitality to merit attention and short-term cellar time. Drink now through 2022. 1,033 cases made. |

WA 94 (10/2015): One of the more feminine, elegant and pretty Pinot Noirs in the lineup, the 2013 Pinot Noir Koplen Vineyard exhibits a lot of spring flowers and sappy underbrush notes, as well as ample underlying darker berry fruit. Lively, fresh and taut on the palate, yet still with depth of fruit and texture, it’s beautiful now but should evolve gracefully. VM 92+ (5/2015): The 2013 Pinot Noir Koplen Vineyard is distinguished by an intensely floral, savory profile that is impossible to miss. Crushed flowers, tobacco, herbs, smoke and red stone fruits open up beautifully as the wine takes shape in the glass. Today, the 2013 is still a bit tight because of its recent bottling, but it is striking, that much is clear. The inclusion of 12% whole clusters is enough to be felt in the wine's aromatic upper register, yet there is also more than enough fruit to provide balance. All the elements are in the right place. The 2013 Koplen appears to have a bright future. Antonio Galloni. WS 90 (8/2015): Firm and vibrant, with an edge of savory herb and fresh earth to the snappy wild berry, raspberry and licorice notes. Needs time. Drink now through 2020. 537 cases made. |

JS 95 (5/2017): Purity of fruit is the phrase here. Strawberry and flower. Rose petal. Full body, round and velvety tannins. Soft and juicy. The KB character with tension. Drink or hold. JD 93 (10/2017): From a five-acre site of alluvial soils, all from clone 667 and made with 10% whole and aged in 35% new barrels, the 2015 Pinot Noir Koplen Vineyard is about as classic a California Pinot Noir as you can find. Savory notes of dried black cherries, mulberries, earth, mushrooms and dried spices all flow to a juicy, full-bodied, sexy, yet balanced 2015 that’s just packed with character. With solid mid-palate depth, ripe tannin and a great finish, drink this textbook Russian River Valley Pinot Noir over the coming decade. VM 93 (8/2017): The 2015 Pinot Noir Koplen Vineyard is one of the most overt, flamboyant wines in the lineup. Super-ripe red cherry and plum flavors make a strong first impression. Blood orange and a host of citrus-infused notes add brightness and lift throughout. The intensity of Russian River fruit along with a touch of freshness adds up to a compelling Pinot Noir. Nearly 40% of wine was aged in concrete. Antonio Galloni. WS 89 (7/2017): Lightly aromatic and supple and graceful on the palate, with a soothing texture and understated plum and raspberry flavors that highlight anise and wilted rose. Supple, expansive and sweet, offering intense blackberry and cherry compote flavors enlivened by juicy acidity and a touch of peppery spices. The floral quality comes back strong on the finish, which clings with superb spicy intensity. This is very suave, and quite expressive already. Stephen Tanzer. WA 91 (10/2014): Normally the most powerful in the line, the 2012 Pinot Noir Pisoni Vineyard is more supple and mid-weight than previous vintages, with plenty of sweet cherry and strawberry fruit, spice, underbrush and floral notes all flowing to a medium-bodied, elegantly textured profile on the palate. Possessing a core of sweet fruit, with a nicely focused feel and good length, it should be consumed over the coming 4-5 years. WS 91 (9/2014): Offers a mix of rich raspberry and red berry fruit, with a measure of elegance and finesse. Offers hints of anise and dried herb, ending with delicate tannins on the simple finish. WA 93 (10/2015): A classic representation of this first rate site, the 2013 Pinot Noir Rosella's Vineyard offers a pretty, perfumed style in its black raspberry, rose petal, violets and floral bouquet. Tight, reserved and slightly backwards, it has beautiful purity of fruit and ample tannin, which is a defining character in the vintage. It's another effort from this team that needs short term cellaring. WS 93 (8/2015): This generous red offers ripe plum, raspberry and wild berry flavors, with hints of crushed rock, wilted rose, fresh-cut herbs and a measure of creamy, vanilla-tinged oak. The tannins are well-integrated. Drink now through 2021. 549 cases made. VM 91 (5/2015): The 2013 Pinot Noir Rosella's Vineyard presents an intriguing combination of Santa Lucia Highlands fruit and distinctly cool, savory aromatics. Hints of rose petal, mint, crushed flowers and cinnamon come together in a supple, highly expressive Pinot with tons of near and medium-term appeal. Antonio Galloni. |

JS 95 (5/2017): This is so perfumed and floral with blue fruits and lightly unripe strawberries. Lemon rind. Medium body, very fine tannins and bright fruit. Vivid. Irresistible now. JD 91 (10/2017): The 2015 Pinot Noir Rosella's Vineyard is a terrific wine from this site, which always gives a fresh, perfumed style. Completely destemmed and aged in 40% new barrels, it offers textbook notes of bright berries, strawberries, rose petals and sappy flowers, medium-bodied richness, a charming, forward style, and a clean finish. It shines for its elegance and purity and is beautifully balanced. VM 90 (8/2017): The 2015 Pinot Noir Rosella's Vineyard is an attractive, open-knit Pinot. Sweet red cherry, hard candy, orange peel and exotic floral notes, along with silky, creamy tannins give the wine its distinctive personality. The Rosella's is one of the more racy, forward wines in this lineup. Antonio Galloni. WS 90 (7/2017): Well-proportioned, with a nice backbone of tannin and acidity and a tight core of spicy, loamy wild berry, cedar and anise notes that should gain by 2018. WS 91 (6/2007): Tightly wound and intense, with firm, spicy, well-focused blackberry and wild berry fruit that has both lively acidity and well-grounded tannins. Needs time. Best from 2008 through 2013. 1,812 cases made. VM 88 (6/2007): Medium red. Jammy raspberry and cola aromas complicated by mocha, red licorice and an exotic hint of peach pit. Sweet and velvety in the mouth, with creamy raspberry and plum preserve flavors and good heft. The weighty, round finish features a clingy red fruit preserve quality. I'd opt for drinking this on the young side. |

WS 93 (8/2012): (WS #91 wine of 2012) Rich and expressive, with bold layers of ripe blueberry, plum and wild berry flavors that show touches of spice and espresso. At points open-knit, yet tightening on the finish. Best from 2013 through 2023. 4,742 cases made. VM 91 (5/2012): Bright ruby. Pungent, highly aromatic red berry and cherry aromas show an array of floral, Asian spice and herb nuances. Ripe but energetic black raspberry, cherry-cola flavors show a subtle smoky earthiness and gain sweetness with air. Finishes sappy and long, with a strong whiplash of bitter cherry. WA 90 (4/2013): The 2010 Pinot Noir Russian River Valley is juicier, richer and rounder than the Sonoma Coast bottling tasted alongside it. Here it's the immediacy of the fruit that speaks loudest. Cinnamon, cherries, plums and mint are some of the notes that flesh out on a juicy, exuberant finish that captures the essence of Russian River Pinot. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2016. BH 87 (9/2012): This possesses the highest-toned nose of the range with a ripe cherry, raspberry and cranberry-infused aromatic profile. This is very round and suave with plenty of palate coating dry extract that imparts a seductive mouth feel though unfortunately, there is distinct warmth on the finish and the only antidote for this is to maintain a cooler than normal serving temperature. This is definitely pretty but the warmth will be enough to bother those who are sensitive to it. Drink 2013+. |

This isn’t a heavy weight and excels on its aromatics and balance more than power or richness. Enjoy it over the coming 4-6 years. Drink now-2019. JD 95 (10/2017): There are 5500 cases of the 2015 Pinot Noir Russian River Valley and it’s a deeply colored, ripe, sexy, beast of an appellation wine that’s as good, or better, then several of the single vineyards. Black raspberries, cassis, roasted herbs, violets, and loads of toasted spice give way to a full-bodied, beautifully textured 2015 that has sweet tannin and a great finish. It's already drinking beautifully but should keep nicely on its balance and purity. JS 94 (5/2017): The bright fruit and hints of citrus come through clearly in this wine on the nose. Medium to full body, linear fine tannins and a fresh citrusy backbone of acidity. Lively. Drink now. WS 92 (3/2017): Lightly perfumed floral and raspberry scents gain depth, weight and dimension, layering blackberry, raspberry, spice and sandy earth notes that are agreeable and refined. Drink now through 2022. 5,914 cases made. VM 90 (8/2017): The 2015 Pinot Noir (Russian River Valley) is a gorgeous appellation-level Pinot. Ripe and racy in the glass, with terrific density, the Russian River Pinot captures the essence of the Kosta Browne style. Succulent red cherry, plum, licorice and spice notes are front and center in a delicious, rewarding Pinot to drink now and over the next few years. Antonio Galloni. |

This isn’t a heavy weight and excels on its aromatics and balance more than power or richness. Enjoy it over the coming 4-6 years. Drink now-2019. WS 90 (9/2013): Gutsy, showing tannic muscle, this offers tidbits of dark berry, with grainy, gripping tannins and notes of cedar and crushed rock. Complete, but should improve with cellaring. Drink now through 2022. 1,693 cases made. VM 89 (2/2014): Dark cherries, plums, smoke and menthol meld together in the 2011 Pinot Noir (Santa Lucia Highlands). This is one of the more immediate wines in the range and appears to be built for near term drinking. Most of the fruit is from Sierra Mar and Soberanes. |

VM 93 (5/2014): Vivid ruby. Powerful aromas of dark berries, potpourri and smoky Moroccan spices. Sweet, fleshy and deeply pitched, offering expansive black raspberry and spicecake flavors and a sexy floral pastille nuance. Silky tannins build slowly on the finish, which lingers with excellent, floral-dominated persistence. Showing a darker character than the Sonoma bottlings but just as much vivacity. WA 92 (10/2014): A beautiful effort that certainly competes with the single-vineyard releases, the 2012 Pinot Noir Santa Lucia Highlands offers up a gorgeous bouquet of black cherries, black raspberry, wild herbs, rose petal and Asian spice to go with a medium-bodied, layered, balanced and rich palate feel. Rounded, with solid richness and upfront fruit, this knockout Pinot Noir will drink nicely for over a decade. WS 91 (9/2014): Presents a rich, powerful display of blackberry, raspberry, spice and floral scents, with touches of smoky oak, anise and dusty earth and a long, persistent finish. Drink now through 2022. 1,849 cases made. VM 90 (1/2015): |

WS 93 (8/2015): Rustic and edgy, in an alluring style, with a crushed rock minerality to the vivid dark berry, raspberry and subtle earth and herb touches. The finish gains momentum and carries the flavors a long way. Drink now through 2021. 2,168 cases made. VM 90 (5/2015): A dark, fleshy wine, the 2013 Pinot Noir Santa Lucia Highlands is all about texture and exuberance. Black cherry, plum, smoke, spice and new leather abound. Beams of refreshing acidity give the 2013 a palpable sense of energy and vitality to the flavors. The supple finish suggests the 2013 is best enjoyed over the next handful of years. |

WS 93 (6/2007): Bold, ripe, expansive and expressive, with layers of spice, black cherry, cola, anise and light toasty oak. Tightly focused, rich and complex, this maintains a beam of fruit and finishes with a long, complex aftertaste. Drink now through 2011. 1,821 cases made. VM 89 (6/2007): Bright red. Spicy cherry and wild strawberry aromas, with dark chocolate and licorice accents. Supple red and dark berry jam flavors show good depth and are accented by cracked pepper and mace. Finishes broad and sweet, with very good length and a refreshingly bitter cherry skin tone. BH 85 (12/2007): An expressive nose combines notes of cherry cough syrup a hint of menthol that can also be picked up on the round, supple and textured flavors that are attractively silky but culminate in a bitter and unbalanced finish where the warmth from the elevated alcohol dominates. While I for clearly stated reasons do not debate the merits of style in my evaluations because everyone should, and for the most part happily does, prefer different things, high alcohol is not a style question, it’s a balance question and this wine’s balance suffers because of its elevated alcohol and backend bitterness. The finishing bitterness of course is not from the alcohol but suffice it to say that this isn’t for me and I certainly wouldn’t recommend aging it. Drink now. |

WS 93 (8/2015): Delivers a pure, focused core of wild berry, raspberry, gravel, anise, dried herb and savory notes that are pleasantly tannic. The fruit pushes through in the end, finishing in a juicy, mouthwatering manner. Drink now through 2022. 6,581 cases made. VM 90 (5/2015): Red-fleshed stone fruits, crushed flowers and sweet spices are some of the notes that are pushed forward in the 2013 Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast. Overall, this is a decidedly forward, juicy Sonoma Coast Pinot built on opulent fruit and near-term appeal. The 2013 is mostly Gap's Crown fruit, which is now an estate vineyard for KB. |

JS 94 (5/2017): Lots of the blue fruits and dried flowers on the nose. Oyster shell too. Medium to full body, li VM 92 (8/2017): The 2015 Pinot Noir (Sonoma Coast) is another terrific appellation-level Pinot. This is the first year in which the Sonoma Coast Pinot is more truly coastal, with more of an influence from sites in the Freestone area. Succulent black cherry, plum, hard candy and expressive floral notes are all supported by beams of firm tannin and lively acidity that add verve as well as freshness. Antonio Galloni. WS 91 (9/2017): Notably elegant and rich, with a deceptively deep and persistent mix of raspberry and wild berry flavors, shaded by gravelly earth and savory notes that lose a bit of focus on the finish. Drink now through 2023. 5,550 cases made. |

JD 94 (10/2017): The 2015 Chardonnay One Sixteen is terrific. Apple peel, toasted nuts, brioche and hints of honey Combe give way to a rich, textured Chardonnay that has impressive mid-palate density, integrated acidity, and a great finish. This is a classic, high-quality Chardonnay well worth your time and money. VM 94 (8/2017): A wine of textural elegance, the 2015 Chardonnay One Sixteen is also a fabulous example of the house style at Kosta Browne today. Lemon confit, chamomile and almond are some of the many notes that meld together in this soft, super-inviting Chardonnay. Here, too, there is lovely richness, but no excess weight. Sweet floral and minty notes add the closing shades of complexity. Antonio Galloni. JS 94 (5/2017): You have to like the fruit here with dried citrus, apple and pear. Hints of vanilla. Full body, round and juicy. Lime undertones. Savory, clear and focused. Mineral. Racy. Drink now. WS 92 (9/2017): Charming for the rich, creamy mix of anise, pear, fig and apricot notes. A wine that is both intense and, at points, seamless and refined. Ends with edgy tannins but complex flavors. Drink now through 2022. 2,337 cases made. |
