WA 88-90 (4/2018): Composed of 87% Merlot and 13% Cabernet Franc, the 2017 le Dragon de Quintus is deep garnet-purple colored and scented of baked cherries, warm mulberries and blackberry pie with touches of bay leaves and fertile loam. The palate is medium to full-bodied with a lively backbone and ripe, grainy tannins defining the vibrant fruit, finishing with impressive length and an herbal lift.
VM 87-89 (5/2018): The 2017 Le Dragon de Quintus is laced with bright red stone fruit, mocha, espresso and floral notes. Pliant and silky, the second wine of Quintus should drink well with minimal cellaring. I find the 2017 a touch slender, but otherwise nicely done. Antonio Galloni.
JD 89-91 (4/2018): The entry-level 2017 Château Quintus Le Dragon de Quintus is comprised of 87% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc. Its deep purple color is followed a youthful, pure, elegant wine that has tons of jammy Merlot fruit, lots of minerality, juicy acidity, and a fresh, clean, structured personality.
JS 89-90 (4/2018): A fresh and clean second wine of Quintus. Medium body, fine tannins and a precise finish. Easy and fine. |
