| WA 93 (12/2016): The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon, blended from grapes from Dr. Crane, as Piedras and the Weitz Vineyard (three great sources in Napa), offers up plenty of blackcurrant fruit, a touch of chocolate, graphite and floral notes. It is dense, has beautiful, sweet, full-bodied opulence and a layered, plush finish like so many 2014s. Drink it over the next 15 or so years. |

| JD 98 (3/2025): Awesome levels of red, blue, and black fruits intermix with chocolate, spice, and new leather notes in the 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon. Full-bodied, round, and layered on the palate, with lifted orange blossom and fine tannins, this brilliant 100% Cabernet Sauvignon will benefit from 4-5 years of bottle age and keep for two decades. | JD 99 (1/2021): Lastly, I was blown away by the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Vine Hill Ranch Vineyard, which comes from a great vineyard in Oakville. Beautiful blue fruits, liquid violets, graphite, and white flower notes all emerge from the glass, and it builds beautifully on the palate, with a full-bodied, layered, seamless texture. It’s one of those wines that just screams Cabernet and offers a terrific sense of density and richness yet still just glides across the palate, with no heaviness or rusticity. This is a gorgeous Cabernet in every way. Give bottles 3-5 years if you can and enjoy over the following two decades or more. Hats off to Sam Kaplan for a tour de force lineup of Napa Valley Cabernet! (Drink between 2024-2047) |
