| JD 90 (3/2024): The 2021 Hermitage is an outstanding wine and certainly does well in the vintage. Black raspberries, red plums, pepper, iron, spring flowers, and an undeniable sense of minerality all define the aromatics, and it's medium-bodied, with a balanced, layered mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and a great finish. All destemmed and aged in 18-20 months in 15% new oak, it’s going to drink nicely for 10-15 years. |

| JD 91+ (3/2024): The 2021 Hermitage Allégresse comes from the foothills of Hermitage and was destemmed and aged in French oak for 20 months. It's a more compact, medium-bodied effort yet brings solid concentration in its black raspberry and red plum-like fruit as well as sappy herb, floral, and peppery aromatics. It has firm tannins, outstanding purity, and outstanding length. It’s an outstanding Hermitage, but give it a few years. It should evolve nicely through 2036. (Drink between 2026-2036). |
