JD 95+ (12/2023): The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Janeen is based on 80% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Merlot aged 18-22 months in new barrels. Wild strawberries, blueberries, dark chocolate, graphite, and lead pencil notes all emerge on the nose, and it's another full-bodied, concentrated, powerful wine from this label that has the vintage’s fresher, elegant under-riding style. Give it a few years and it’s going to drink brilliantly over the following 15-20 years. (Drink between 2026-2046).
WA 95 (7/2024): There are a whopping 120 cases of the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Janeen, which is based on Sage Ridge fruit but includes 20% Sugarloaf Mountain Merlot. The nose features a touch of asphalt, then black olives and cassis, plus a dark, earthy nuance. Full-bodied and densely concentrated, with a long, savory finish, it's a serious wine, capable of aging at least a couple of decades. |
