JD 93-94 (7/2025): The first 2024 Korde Blanco was produced in 2020 and continues the celebration of Albillo Mayor and other indigenous white grapes that are grown by the winery on older vines. Aged over two winters (and a barrel sample here), what you’ll remember most is the complex mouthfeel and texture, driven by an earthiness of white flowers, great acidity, and lasting flavors of grapefruit and yuzu. The structure is there to age another 12-15 years.

JD 95 (7/2025): The 2019 is named for the Pinus Pinea tree growing in the middle of the producer’s Cardisanto Vineyard, and it’s a smooth, powerful, velvety wine of tremendous quality. Herbal cedar, toasted oak, and garrigue play along a full-bodied palate of rich black cherry, coconut flake, and dried herb, with mineral-driven intensity coming from the limestone soils. Firm, structured tannins ensure a long life of decades ahead, with an elegant backbone of chalky nerve. Only about 8,000 bottles were made.

JD 96 (7/2025): A youthful, memorable exploration of 100% Tempranillo made in a refined and modern style, the 2021 Tempranillo 17 by Pinea opens in a wealth of silky tannins and rounded red berry fruit. Fantastic acidity complements its power, complexity, and length to result in something remarkably sophisticated, with well-etched characteristics of oak spice, vanilla, cacao nib, and balsamic. The fruit is all blackberries. There’s no doubt a good amount of concentration in the wine, yet it feels weightless on the palate. Extremely impressive, it should age with ease another 15-20 years.
