WS 91 (7/2003): Wonderful harmony, intensity and concentration, with sweet, juicy currant and blackberry fruit at the center, shaded by cedary oak, which gives off a taste of sage and olive. The tannins are a bit raw but not out of line for a young wine. Best from 2005 through 2012. 10,200 cases made.
WA 87-89 (8/2002): The only 2000 I tasted was the Cabernet Sauvignon Estate. It reveals the vintage's charm, sweet tannin, and lovely ripe fruit, but those characteristics are slightly negated by the fact that it does not have the depth, persistence, layers, or concentration of a great Napa vintage. It should firm up after bottling, and be at its finest between 2005-2015. |

| WA 91-93 (12/2007): Made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2006 Estate possesses a dark ruby/purple color, firm tannin, a dense constitution, and plenty of sweet black fruit characteristics intermixed with notions of new oak and scorched earth. It is more broodingly backward than the 2005, and appears to have a longer time line. |

| WA 91 (10/2019): Made of 91% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Malbec and 3% Petit Verdot, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is deep garnet-purple colored with intense black currant cordial, sautéed herbs and plum preserves with hints of underbrush, dried bay leaves, tilled soil, chargrill and truffles. Full-bodied, rich and with a plush texture, it has a lovely herbal note lifting the palate and finish. |

| WA 94+ (12/2007): The backward 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve Estate (390 cases) reminds me of a hypothetical blend of a top Pauillac and Napa Cabernet Sauvignon. Notes of creosote, charcoal, black currant liqueur, pain grille, and graphite are all present in this dense purple-colored, rich, full-bodied wine. With moderately high tannin and good acidity, it will benefit from 2-4 years of cellaring, and should keep for three decades. |
