VM 93 (8/2006): Full, deep red. Reduced aromas of blackberry, mocha, coffee and meat. Suave and firmly built, with excellent focus and energy to its penetrating flavors of dark berries, bitter chocolate and pungent spices. Finishes spicy and sharply focused, with firm tannins, excellent breadth and lift, and lingering mineral nuances.
WA 92 (12/2006): La Fuga’s 2001 Brunello di Montalcino is a fresh, vibrant wine with attractive notes of cherries, tobacco, minerals and sweet toasted oak. Full-bodied and ample on the palate, it offers Outstanding length as well as plenty of style, with fine tannins and an understated yet expressive personality. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2019.
WS 92 (4/2006): Black licorice with hints of raspberry follow through to a full-bodied palate, with fine tannins and a long finish. This is layered, young and fun. Give it time. Best after 2009. 3,000 cases made. |
