WA 91 (8/2016): The 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon Correlation displays a clean, pure nose of camphor, crème de cassis and licorice followed by an opulent, medium to full-bodied mouthfeel and a long finish. Clearly showing significantly better than when I first tasted it, it should continue to evolve for another 10-12+ years. VM 90 (5/2014): Bright ruby-red. Highly aromatic, inviting nose offers scents of cassis, licorice, brown spices, tobacco leaf and fresh herbs. Supple and surprisingly sweet in the middle, with good concentration and floral lift to the flavors of currant, plum and cola spices. Easygoing and open-knit for the vintage, with the flavor intensity to support its dusty, spicy, peppery tannins. Stephen Tanzer. |

| VM 88 (10/2015): The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Correlation is powerful, intense and jammy, with plenty of dark fruit, chocolate, oak and spice, which, despite their intensity, can't completely cover the astringent tannins. Overall, this is a solid, but formulaic, phoned in effort with no creativity, much less anything that might speak to Spring Mountain. Antonio Galloni. |

WA 90-92 (12/2015): The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Correlation spent 26 months in 95% new French oak and shows a heavy dosage of vanillin and graphite. The color is a dense ruby/purple, the wine pure, ripe, medium to full-bodied, powerful and masculine. Give it 4-5 years of cellaring and drink it over the following 20-25 years. VM 89-91 (10/2015): The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Correlation is a big, dramatic wine. Black cherry, mocha, cloves, chocolate, licorice and new leather are all pushed forward. This is an especially succulent, unctuous wine for the vintage, but there is also quite a bit of underlying power as well. The Correlation is made from estate fruit, with the addition of fruit from a neighboring property, and also includes a bit of Merlot. (Drink between 2017-2025). Antonio Galloni. |

| WA 95 (8/2018): Deep garnet colored, the 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate reveals a wonderfully expressive nose of dried mulberries, blackberry pie, plum preserves and cigar box with touches of dried lavender, sauteed herbs and menthol plus a waft of charcuterie. Full-bodied, firm and with a beautifully ripe, grainy texture, the palate is heading into tertiary territory with plenty of spice box and earth notes, finishing long and savory. |

WA 94 (10/2018): The deep garnet-purple colored 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate opens with explosive preserved plums, blueberry compote and Black Forest cake with Chinese five spice, chocolate box and licorice hints. The palate is big, rich, full, fruity and gregarious with tons of exotic spices, blue and black fruit flavors and a velvety texture, finishing long and lively. VM 91+ (7/2019): Bright, dark red. A slight medicinal cast to the aromas of blackcurrant, licorice, wild sage and dark chocolate. Briary blueberry and blackcurrant fruit and torrefaction flavors are complicated by licorice and menthol and lifted by a repeating note of wild herbs. At once thick and juicy, this chewy, mountain-style Cabernet finishes with a hint of warmth and some acidity yet to be absorbed. I suspect this wine is passing through an awkward stage, so I'd hold it for another couple of years before pulling the cork. (14.8% alcohol) (Drink between 2021-2034). Stephen Tanzer. |

WA 94 (10/2018): Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is a little closed to begin, opening out to expressive wild blueberry, black cherry and black raspberry notes with touches of menthol, baker’s chocolate, underbrush and mossy bark plus a touch of truffles. The palate is full, firm and chewy with a lively backbone and plenty of muscular fruit, finishing earthy. VM 92 (5/2020): Saturated deep ruby! Brooding, medicinal aromas of crushed mountain blackberry, sage, tar, licorice and bitter chocolate. Dense, deep and chocolatey on entry, conveying an almost port-like ripeness and a lack of restraint to its powerful mountain berry and black pepper flavors. Powerful but still a bit musclebound, and in need of further cellaring. This pungent, hugely tannic wine should become more civilized with a few more years of cellaring. Right now, it's no-holds-barred, and quite tannic. In fact, it's hard to believe that it's almost ten years old, as it tastes like a barrel sample. Classic mountain wine, but fans of more delicate Cabernets may find it a bit overbearing. A second bottle was a bit more pliant in the middle palate, showing a stronger licorice element, and of equal quality It, too, was quite tannic, but seemed a bit sweeter--and closer to maturity. (Drink between 2023-2038). Stephen Tanzer. |

VM 94 (5/2022): The 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon Vineyard 7 & 8 Estate has turned out beautifully. At age ten, the 2011 is endowed with tremendous depth. Moreover, it remains very, very young. Blackberry jam, chocolate, spice, new leather and cloves saturate the palate. There are no hard edges or green notes here, just a very young Spring Mountain Cabernet that still needs time. Harvest took place in early November, meaning very, very late. (Drink between 2023-2036). Antonio Galloni. WA 94 (10/2018): Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate sings of warm plums, cassis and violets with touches of bay leaves, black soil, pepper and cedar chest. The palate is full-bodied, firm and grainy with a lively line cutting through the intense black and blue berry flavors, finishing long with an herbal lift. |

WA 96 (10/2018): Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate features baked black cherries, warm cassis, preserved plums and potpourri with touches of tilled soil, garrigue, earth and tobacco plus a touch of bacon. Full, very firm and grainy, it's packed with black fruit and savory layers with seamless freshness, finishing long. VM 93 (5/2024): The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is very much a wine of its era. A blast of blackberry jam, espresso, mocha, licorice and sweet spice races across the palate. Opulent and full-throttle to the core, the 2013 is unabashedly flamboyant. Even so, it has aged beautifully and also managed to integrate the strong oak imprint it showed as a young wine. There's still plenty of jammy fruit and sweet oak/torrefaction, but all the elements are very nicely balanced. (Drink between 2023-2038). Antonio Galloni. |

WA 95 (10/2018): The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate has a deep garnet-purple color and very perfumed nose with violets and lavender over blueberries and mulberries plus mossy bark, forest floor, stewed tea and dried herbs. The medium to full-bodied palate is firm, grainy, fine, fresh and elegantly played, finishing long and mineral tinged. VM 94 (1/2025): The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is superb. Deep, rich and explosive, the 2014 captures the essence of the house style. Even with all its opulence, the 2014 has aged well while also retaining a good kick of brightness that extends the nearly seamless finish. A final kick of tannins serves as a reminder of the style of the year. (Drink between 2024-2034). Antonio Galloni. JD 90+ (12/2017): The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate comes all from the estate vineyard on Spring Mountain, saw 50-60-day maceration and spent 26 months in 100% new French oak. Its deep ruby/purple color is followed by terrific notes of blackcurrants, truffle, chocolate, toasted oak, and licorice. This big, meaty, chunky Cabernet Sauvignon has full-bodied richness, plenty of oak to integrate, and a slightly monolithic style. Give it 3-4 years of cellaring and hope for the best. |

WA 97+ (10/2018): The deep garnet-purple colored 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate issues forth with a bombastic nose of crème de cassis, plum preserves, blueberry pie and Indian spices with touches of earth, tobacco, meat and wood smoke plus a waft of cedar. Full, rich, concentrated, very firm and grainy, it's lively and packed with fruit, finishing layered and long. VM 94 (12/2018): The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate has turned out beautifully. Rich, sumptuous and racy, the 2015 captures all the potential I saw when I tasted the wine from barrel. Black cherry, plum, mocha, espresso, chocolate and licorice are all nicely pushed forward in this bold, extroverted Cabernet. (Drink between 2020-2030). Antonio Galloni. |

VM 97 (1/2022): The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is a great example of this site. Rich and explosive in feel, the 2018 hits the palate with serious intensity. Blackberry, chocolate, spice, leather, licorice and dark spice give this powerhouse Cabernet much of its brooding intensity. A few more years in bottle is an absolute must. (Drink between 2026-2028). Antonio Galloni. JD 95 (5/2022): The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is all varietal and saw over two years (26 months) in new French oak. A deep, powerful, concentrated Spring Mountain Cabernet, it reveals a dense purple hue to go with powerful black currant and black cherry fruits as well as notes of licorice, chocolate, espresso, and new leather. As with the Block Six, it has lots of oak, yet the tannins here are sweet, it has a beautifully layered mouthfeel, and a gorgeous finish. It’s not for those seeking instant gratification (or the oak adverse) and this beauty demands cellaring. Hide bottles for 7-8 years and it should last for 2-3 decades. |

| VM 89 (5/2024): The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville is dark, powerful and super-concentrated. All things considered, the 2012 has aged well, which is a good thing, but it is not especially finessed. Black cherry, mocha, licorice, spice and bittersweet chocolate power through in this muscular, deep wine. Heavy oak emerges in hard tannins and strong torrefaction notes. I would prefer drinking this over the next 5-10 years, as more time in bottle is not going to help. (Drink between 2022-2027). Antonio Galloni. |

VM 94 (5/2024): The 2012 Chardonnay Estate is terrific. Still fresh and vibrant, the 2012 offers up hints of tangerine oil, mint, vanillin, white pepper and butter. Creamy and textured, the 2012 is gorgeous today, but will drink well for another decade or so. It's a very representative wine of this era at Vineyard 7 & 8. (Drink between 2022-2027). Antonio Galloni. WA 93 (10/2014): The beautiful 2012 Chardonnay Estate exhibits a light straw color with green tints. Honeysuckle, white peach, tangerine oil and lemon blossom characteristics are present in the complex set of aromatics. The wine is medium to full-bodied, layered, rich and impressive. Enjoy it over the next 5-6 years. |

VM 92 (1/2025): The 2014 Chardonnay Estate is a very pretty, understated wine that has aged quite well. Hints of apricot, butter, hazelnut and candied orange peel are all typical of a ten year-old Chardonnay. It retains plenty of energy, although it is on the lighter side texturally relative to most years. There's plenty of up-front charm, but the mid-palate and finish taper off a bit. (Drink between 2024-2028). Antonio Galloni. WA 90 (12/2015): The 2014 Chardonnay Estate is cut from the same mold, and like its sibling in 2013, it spent 14 months in 25% new French oak. The wine offers good, crisp white currant, tangerine oil and caramelized citrus. It is medium-bodied and fresh, with a hint of minerality in the background. The oak is very restrained and appropriate. Drink it over the next 4-5 years. |

VM 93 (1/2018): A gorgeous wine, Vineyard 7&8's 2015 Chardonnay Estate is rich and viscous on the palate, but with plenty of freshness and the hillside phenolic structure that is such a signature of this site. Lemon oil, almond, white flowers and chamomile add shades of nuance. The 2015 spent about 16 months in barrel, about 50% new. The punishing growing season took with it 50% of production. (Drink between 2017-2023). Antonio Galloni. JD 92 (12/2017): The 2015 Chardonnay Estate is a classic California Chardonnay that has loads of upfront tropical fruit and buttered pineapple notes in a rich, medium to full-bodied, textured style. Aged 16 months in 25% new French oak, it has good acidity, background oak, and a clean, classy finish, all making for a delicious, balanced Chardonnay to drink over the coming 4-5 years. |

JD 94 (1/2021): The only wine I was able to taste from this estate, the 2018 Chardonnay Estate is a beauty, offering lots of lemon curd, stone fruits, white flowers, and honeyed bread-like aromas and flavors. Rich and medium-bodied, it has ample depth of fruit on the palate and picks up more toasty, almost nutty nuances with air. This beautiful, layered Chardonnay is going to keep nicely for 4-6 years or so. (Drink between 2021-2028). WA 94 (11/2020): The 2018 Chardonnay Estate sashays out of the glass with flamboyant scents of honey-drizzled apricots, poached pears and almond croissant with touches of candied ginger, apple strudel and crème caramel. The medium to full-bodied palate nicely balances the savory vs fruit flavors, featuring loads of warm apple, baking spice and nutty layers, supported by great freshness and a satiny texture, finishing long. VM 93 (1/2021): The 2018 Chardonnay is a very pretty, lifted wine that offers considerable immediacy and tons of appeal. Light floral and tropical accents grace this beautifully transparent, expressive Chardonnay from Vineyard 7 & 8. Drink it over the next handful of years. (Drink between 2021-2026). Antonio Galloni. |

| VM 95+ (1/2022): The 2019 Chardonnay Estate is a potent, structured wine that will need a few years to come together. Its depth, complexity and overall presence are admirable. Bright acids perk up a core of tangerine peel, mint, apricot and honey. The 2019 is beautifully done. Given how these wines age, I would be in no rush to open a bottle. (Drink between 2024-2034). Antonio Galloni. |
