WA 89 (3/2015): The 2012 Pinot Noir Shea Vineyards was picked October 9 and comes from the Wandenswil clone of Block 25, seeing one-third new French oak for ten months. It has a lifted and focused marine-influenced bouquet that is well defined, with hints of freshly shucked oyster shell infusing the brambly black fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with fleshy, sappy red berry fruit tinged with licorice, while the finish displays satisfying length end persistence. This should drink nicely over the next 4 or 6 years.
