| VM 91-94 (2/2008): Component #1, from granitic oil in the climat Mollard: Inky color. Ripe cassis and licorice on the nose, with strong minerality. Deep, sweet and chewy, with strong tannins but excellent lingering sweetness. Component #2, from schist soil in Cote-Rozier: Spicier and more perfumed, with floral red and dark berry aromas. | VM 94 (9/2019): Opaque ruby. A highly perfumed bouquet displays aromas of dark fruit liqueur, potpourri, exotic spices and smoked meat. Palate-staining black currant, cherry preserve and spicecake flavors are sharpened by a vibrant mineral flourish that brings energy and lift. Puts on weight with air and finishes extremely long and smooth, with repeating minerality and building tannic grip. (Drink between 2023-2033). Josh Raynolds. |
