| VM 92 (8/2018): The 2015 Capensis comes from the Jackson family of Verité fame and debuted with great fanfare a couple of years ago. This latest release was matured for 10 months in 100% French oak, 41% of it new. It has a well-defined bouquet with finely integrated oak; scents of honeysuckle, beeswax and dried pineapple blossom in the glass over two hours. The palate is well balanced, the oak neatly integrated with a slightly nutty, creamy, orange-peel-tinged finish that feels reassuringly long. I get the feeling this is a more "toned-down" Capensis compared to its previous releases, and restraint suits it well. The only caveat is the price and the stiff competition from high-performing South African Chardonnays. Neal Martin. |

WA 89 (10/2019): The 2016 Chardonnay has aromas of lemon peel, green apple skin, golden apple core and yellow pear, with subtle brown baking spices from French oak aging. There is something very pleasing about the focus of this wine, with lower alcohol and an energetic line of acidity through its core. This Chardonnay expresses more vibrancy from the warmer weather in 2016, while the structure is still balanced. Medium-bodied, the wine finishes with citrus and green apple wrapped in soft oak tones. Only 1,047 cases were made. WS 89 (7/2020): Features a smoky aroma, while the palate exhibits notes of toasted hazelnut and brioche that frame the core of peach and citrus flavors. The beautiful texture expands over the palate. Sweet spice details emerge on the mouthwatering finish. Drink now through 2024. 1,000 cases made, 800 cases imported. |

| VM ** (1/2003): With only around 10% alcohol (like the #6), this is extraordinarily creamy and rich even by Kracher standards, yet has an integration of fresh citrus, a smooth sedate palate personality, and a delicacy of touch that #6 misses. Apple jelly, baked peach, blood orange and brown spices abound in the finish. Subtle suggestions of fruit pit bitterness add interest and counterpoint to the sweetness. 2 stars. David Schildknecht |

| WA 94 (10/2003): Butterscotch, cream, and peaches are found in the nose of the syrupy 2000 #7 Chardonnay Trockenbeerenauslese Nouvelle Vague (7.5% alcohol, 295.9 grams residual sugar/liter, and 6.5 grams/liter total acidity). This creamy textured wine’s mouth-feel is as soft as a goose down pillow. Its thick, full-bodied character has flavors reminiscent of butterscotch squares whipped into condensed milk. Drink it over the next 15-20 years. |

| VM ** (11/2003): Apple jelly, honey, apricot nectar and sweet distilled herbal notes on the nose. Pure, rich, deftly and deceptively light in palate impression, this also brings more spice and grip to bear on the chardonnay than its 2000 vintage counterpart. A model of poise and proportionality and a marvel of length. 2 stars. David Schildknecht. |

Armed with the density and depth of 10W40 motor oil, it is a syrupy, jammy, viscous effort. Loads of jammy apricots, cherries, and peaches can be discerned in its spice-laden personality. Projected maturity: now-2030. |

| VM 96 (11/2006): Deep golden yellow. Juicy stone fruits, honey, tobacco and a piquant hint of grapefruit on the nose. Powerful but juicy palate-coating flavors of apricot, hazelnut paste, white pepper, white tea and marshmallow. This opulent wine should go on for decades. Drink from 2010 to 2040. Peter Moser. |

| VM 95 (11/2009): Medium golden yellow. Sharply defined aromas and flavors of apple and pear. Unctuous in its texture, with flavors of lemon verbena and prune and a subtle note of sponge cake. In spite of its extreme sweetness, this round wine is quite juicy thanks to a solid core of acidity and plenty of chalky minerals. Has a long and very promising life ahead of it. Peter Moser. |
