| WA 91 (4/1998): The 1995 Beaune Clos Des Mouches, tasted for the third time (once out of barrel, once out of bottle in the United States, and again at the firm's headquarters in Beaune), is truly delicious. Medium-to-dark ruby-colored (hints of purple are still present on the rim), this wine displays roses, violets, black raspberries, and cherries on the nose and a medium-to-full-bodied, silky, complex, and gorgeously-balanced personality. Its flavor profile is packed with intense cherries, strawberries, and minerals which linger in its prodigious finish. Anticipated maturity: 2000-2009. |

| VM 92 (2/2019): Medium yellow. Very sexy scents of ripe stone fruits, minerals, clove and menthol, plus a suggestion of redcurrant and a Batard-like toasty nuance. Large-scaled, plush and powerful but also quite fine-grained, with salty minerality and a repeating menthol element carrying through to a palate-staining finish. There's lovely supporting acidity here for such a rich, ripe wine. A touch of sweetness gives this complex, chewy premier cru some early appeal but there's much more to come here. (I should note that my first bottle showed a deeper yellow color. It was sweet and silky but displayed more evolved notes of ripe apricot, marzipan and white chocolate, as well as a balsamic element, almost certainly due to a bad cork or cork seal. Veronique Drouhin admitted that her family had some cork problems in 2012.) Stephen Tanzer. |

| BH 91 (6/2019): A whiff of matchstick is present on the pretty and notably floral nose of apple and soft wood influence. The rich and relatively full-bodied medium-bodied flavors possess both good punch and focused power if not the sheer size and weight of the Morgeot, all wrapped in a lingering and complex finish where the only nit is a hint of warmth. Note that this could easily be enjoyed young if desired. Drink 2024+. Outstanding! |

| BH 92 (4/2023): Drouhin noted that this had just been bottled a few days before I tasted it and not surprisingly, it was much more aromatically restrained with its nose of markedly floral and spicy red pinot fruit scents. The texture of the medium-bodied and less mineral-driven flavors is quite similar to that of the Les Cras though the supporting tannins are even finer on the beautifully balanced and sneaky long finale. This is a Clos des Mouches of generosity and finesse. Drink starting 2031. |

| BH 92 (4/2018): (from a .80 ha parcel in the climat of Sur les Grèves.) Here the nose plays on the edge of reduction and while it doesn't completely mask the floral-scented nose of dark berries and earth, it does render it less expressive. The rich and notably denser medium-bodied flavors also flash a lovely minerality that adds a sense of lift to the much firmer, even robust finish that is presently somewhat youthfully austere. Patience required but this should ultimately be excellent. Drink 2028+. Outstanding! |

BH 96 (4/2007): A spicy, ripe and pure nose of floral red pinot fruit and rose petals possesses nuances of menthol, earth and a slight whiff of the sauvage that can also be found on the rich, serious and powerful big-bodied flavors that are sleekly muscled and very firmly structured yet they remain balanced, cool and harmonious on the monumentally long finish. This seems less structured than it really is as the abundant sap renders them less prominent if not invisible. While 15 to 20 years should see this at its apogee, this will still be alive and well at 50 years of age. Drink: 2020+
WA 92 (6/2007): Black raspberry with horehound aromas in Drouhin’s 2005 Bonnes Mares lead to a sappy, intense palate of black raspberry and pungent herbal essence with notes of caramel and cocoa, and to a finish of persistent fruit intensity. Here is another of those cases where imposing richness coexists with bright, indeed almost electrically energetic fresh fruit intensity. This lacks the riveting complexity of the best wines here today but will be a force to reckon with in 8-10 years.
VM 90-93 (4/2007): Medium red. Spicy aromas of briary red berries and blueberry, wild herbs, mocha and pepper. Concentrated, powerful and tight, with a medicinal cast and noteworthy energy to the vibrant flavors of briary berries, herbs and spices. Conveys an impression of firm acidity: this is all about energy and thrust today. Finishes firmly tannic and tight, in need of a good eight to ten years of bottle aging. This could hardly be more different in style from the comparatively creamy Amoureuses. |

| BH 93 (4/2013): Much like the Musigny, this is really beautifully spicy but here there are intense earth and sauvage undertones to the mostly wild red berry fruit scents. There is excellent volume and plenty of minerality to the focused, energetic and overtly powerful large-scaled flavors that culminate in an austere finish that displays noticeable gas which accentuates the firmness of the tannins. Even so, this is clearly a long-distance runner and like the Griotte, I would strongly advise buying this only with the intent to cellar it for at least a decade. Drink 2023+. |

BH 91 (4/2021): Once again there is a liqueur-like aspect to the pretty and fresh aromas of plum, black raspberry and an abundance of spice elements and especially anise. The precise, refined and energetic flavors brim with minerality that adds a sense of lift to the beautifully complex, persistent and balanced finale. This is a terrific villages and very much worth your interest. (Drink starting 2027).
WA 90+ (9/2021): The 2019 Chambolle-Musigny Village has turned out beautifully, unwinding in the glass with notes of raspberries and cherries mingled with subtle hints of petals and spices. Medium to full-bodied, elegantly fleshy and precise, with a nicely concentrated core of fruit, lively acids and powdery tannins, it's more classically proportioned than its richer, riper 2018 counterpart. |

As one would reasonably expect this is much more elegant with its highly perfumed and ultra-pure essence of red currant and wide ranging floral elements that are trimmed in sandalwood and anise nuances. The stony and saline middle weight flavors possess laser-like delineation along with good richness and volume, all wrapped in a firm and ever-so-mildly austere finale that also makes it clear that this is built-to-age, indeed it will very like require 10 to 12 years of bottle age to reach its apogee. It will be fascinating to see how the Grands-Echezeaux will develop in the coming years. This finishes with substantial energy and polish. The Grands-Echezeaux is all estate fruit from old vines. | BH 93-95 (4/2023): Much like the Clos Prieur, this is quite ripe in the context of the 2021 vintage with its combination of super-spicy red and dark berry fruit aromas that are cut with hints of earth, violet and lilac. The exceptionally rich and generously proportioned middleweight plus flavors exude evident minerality on the superbly long if youthfully austere finale that really fans out as it sits on the palate. Lovely and I particularly like the balance. |

BH 93 (5/2007): A marvelously complex nose that is just beginning to display the first hints of secondary aromas (though no sous bois) leads to concentrated black cherry flavors with firm but harmonious tannins underpinned by firm acidity and excellent length where the structure comes across as a dusty element. This is a big wine by the standards of the domaine and is very classy juice that continues to positively evolve and as such, I have extended my suggested drinking window. Drink: 2012+.
WA 90-92 (6/1997): The day I tasted the dark-colored Musigny, it was extremely muted aromatically. On the palate it revealed tightly wound (almost nervous), super-delineated and polished fresh cherries, cassis and violets. Medium-to-full bodied, supple and very long, it is obviously an Outstanding wine but it is closed. Anticipated maturity: 2002-2010. |

BH 93 (10/2006): High-toned aromas of pinot and strawberry fruit that are still largely primary though there are now hints of secondary development that complement the medium weight flavors where the tannins are still buried. While this is not especially dense, particularly on the mid palate, it is stunningly elegant with exceptionally good length and in particular, simply beautiful balance. This can be approached now with pleasure though it should continue to improve for another 4 to 6 years. Drink: 2010+
WA 91-93 (8/1998): This dark-colored wine has malty black cherry scents and a broad-shouldered, masculine, highly-structured (verging on tannic) character. Its chewy texture offers loads of sweetened and creamed blackberries, violets, and earth. This wine coats the mouth with copious quantities of fine tannins that, in time, will easily be overcome by this impressive offering's dense fruit. Drink it between 2005 and 2010+. |

The highly refined, vibrant and beautifully well-delineated flavors exude evident minerality that continues onto the strikingly long and complex finish. This knockout is textbook Petits Monts. (Drink starting 2028).
VM 92+ (1/2018): Bright light-medium red. Lovely aromatic verve to the aromas of raspberry, rose petal, minerals and white pepper. Juicy and firmly built, conveying excellent sneaky intensity to its flavors of red berries, minerals and flowers. Finishes a bit clenched in a positive way but juicy and high-pitched, with a vivacious note of orange zest. This very refined, sharply delineated wine finishes with firm building tannins and lingering salty minerality. I suspect that seven or eight years of aging will bring a more supple texture and an even higher score. (Drink between 2025-2036). Stephen Tanzer. |

A much more restrained nose reluctantly offers up its array of exceptionally floral-infused aromas that include those of acacia, lilac and rose petal along with hints of Granny Smith apples and lemongrass. There is outstanding volume and power to the relatively refined larger-scaled flavors that are much, much more mineral-driven on the youthfully austere, serious and compact finish. This beauty will need at least a few years of keeping first and should amply reward 10 to 12. Drink 2028+. |

JM 91 (6/2025): Bottled in March 2025. Pale colour with a green streak. Not finding much bouquet as yet. Another understated but very refined wine, perhaps the hallmark of biodynamics. The best part is the length of the finish. Drink from 2026-2032. |

BH 91-94 (10/2024): Firm reduction renders an evaluation of the nose impossible today. More interesting are the fresh, impressively dense, especially for the vintage, and powerful larger-scaled flavors that also brim with sappy dry extract on the palate soaking, youthfully austere and tightly wound finale. This is very promising and a wine that should amply repay a decade, perhaps even a bit more, of keeping. (Drink starting 2033).
JM 93 (6/2025): In bottle (with a little more to follow). Fairly pale in colour with a powerful but undeveloped bouquet. White fruit with just a hint of greengage. Powerful wine as well on the palate. The finish will doubtless develop even further with age. Drink from 2029-2035. |

| Decanter 95 (10/2024): Tasted from cask, the delicious Meursault Criots from Pierre Boisson is fresh and lemony, with great balance and precision. Bernard Boisson explained the secrets of the domaine: 'Old vines, old oak, no bâtonnage, and a long maturation.' It's a simple but effective recipe. A hint of stylish reduction and a lively acidity due to the harvest date suit this vintage particularly well. Although the wine will undoubtedly be lovely when bottled, it will be better after five years in the cellar and continue to improve for another decade beyond that. (Drink between 2028-2040) |

JM 89-91 (12/2024): To bottle in the New Year. A fine mid lemon yellow with an engaging generosity of fruit already apparent on the nose. The Javilliers have manged to harness freshness with ripeness in a most engaging fashion. Apple and plum fruit throughout, with a fine long finish. Drink from 2026-2029.
BH 87 (6/2025): Smoky aromas include those of apple, pear and a pretty floral top note. There is fine density, particularly in the context of the 2023 vintage, to the attractively textured and punchy flavors that conclude in a supple and lingering finish that is perhaps a bit less dry than usual. Even so, this is lovely and worth considering. (Drink starting 2026).
VM 87 (3/2025): The 2023 Bourgogne Côte d'Or Cuvée des Forgets has a light grass clipping- and apple blossom-scented nose. The palate is fresh with admirable weight, more expressive than the aromatics at the moment, with citrus peel and a hint of apricot on the finish. Drink over the next five years. VM 89 (3/2025): The 2023 Bourgogne Côte d'Or Cuvée Oligocène has a little more evidence of oak on the nose and a touch more yellow fruit than the Cuvée des Forgets. The palate is fresh and lively, mixing citrus lemon with orange rind and a dash of lemongrass towards the finish. Great value as always, this comes recommended. (Drink between 2025-2032). JM 89 (12/2024): Bottled end November. A slightly paler lemon yellow. Oligocene proposes a more cerebral aspect after the joyous Forgets. Ther is still an excellent concentration of ripe fruit, with a clear limestone backbone. Very good tension here with some lime notes as well as ripe lemon. Balanced and classy. Drink from 2026-2029.
BH 87 (6/2025): A more layered nose is comprised by notes of petrol, various white orchard fruit, acacia and a whiff of citrus confit. There is a bit more volume to the vibrant and utterly delicious middle weight flavors that retain a fine sense of detail on the drier, longer and more complex finale. This is an excellent Bourgogne and warmly recommended. (Drink starting 2027). |

JM 94-96 (10/2024): Only recently racked. An even mid lemon. The nose offers stones up front. The palate a wealth of concentrated white fruit supported by a little oak, and while the detail is not forthcoming, the quality and length of the finish impress. A vibrant mineral finish surrounded by an impressive weight of fruit. Drink from 2030-2037.
VM 93-95 (3/2025): The 2023 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru is surprisingly reserved on the nose despite aeration, with crushed stone, sea cave and light nettle aromas. The palate is where the action is: very well balanced, harmonious and poised, gaining weight towards a mineral-driven finish that delivers the complexity you'd expect from a Grand Cru. Superb. BH 93 (6/2025): Here too there is a touch of phenolic character lurking in the background of the aromas of mineral reduction, Granny Smith apple and a range of spice and floral wisps. JM 91 (12/2024): In bottle. A light lime touch to the pale lemon yellow colour. There is a chiselled note to the wine despite the opulence, quite rich whiter fruit on the palate yet still with the backbone of mineral acidity. Grapey finish. Drink from 2027-2030.
BH 89 (6/2025): Here too there is plenty of petrol character present on the ripe aromas of white peach, pear, floral and soft spice wisps. The generously proportioned and intense flavors possess a succulent mouthfeel as well as good delineation on the balanced bitter zest-inflected finale. Clos du Cromin is a wine that typically ages deceptively well yet it drinks well young too. (Drink starting 2028).
VM 88 (3/2025): The 2023 Meursault Clos du Cromin has an elegant nose with yellow plum, clementine and light wild honey scents. The palate is well balanced with impressive weight, quite a thick-textured Clos du Cromin with a touch of lemongrass on the finish. This is probably one I would choose for early drinking. BH 91 (6/2025): There is a touch of phenolic character (think olive oil nuances) to the similarly airy and ripe aromas of white peach, the essence of pear and a whiff of exotic tea. The sleek, detailed and bigger-bodied flavors possess good power, if less finesse, while delivering even better depth on the sappy, balanced and built-to-age finale. This is an excellent Meursault villages and worth your interest. (Drink starting 2030).
VM 88 (3/2025): The 2023 Meursault Les Clousots has a backward nose of crushed stone and shucked oyster shells, perhaps in need of a little more vigour. The palate is fresh on the entry with apricot and a touch of peach skin on the front palate, though it just drifts a bit towards the finish. At the moment, I actually err towards the Cuvée Oligocène. VM 91 (3/2025): The 2023 Meursault Les Tillets has a stonier, more reserved bouquet than the Clos du Cromin, with light petrichor and beeswax scents. The palate is fresh and vibrant with a keen thread of acidity, more linear yet more energetic than other cuvées. This is very promising. (Drink between 2026-2038). Neal Martin.
BH 90 (6/2025): An airy, ripe and elegant combination of spice, white flower, exotic tea and petrol precede overtly stony, detailed and highly refined middle weight flavors that display fine length on the impeccably well-balanced finale. This is textbook Tillets, which is to say a wine of finesse that could be enjoyed young or with 6 to 9 years of keeping. Recommended as well. (Drink starting 2029). |

BH 92 (6/2025): A cooler and much more restrained nose features notes of citrus, a lovely range of floral elements and exotic spice hints of anise and clove. The super-sleek and more mineral-driven flavors aren't quite as powerful or rich but they are undeniably finer with excellent length on the equally well-balanced finale. This is terrific for its level and highly recommended. (Drink starting 2030).
JM 92-93 (12/2024): Not yet in bottle. This is significantly more backward. The nose in particular. But then this blend of Casse Tete and Murger de Monthelie is always the most profound. It shows in the density of ripe orchard fruit on the palate, and the energy of the fruit at the finish. The vin de garde among the Meursaults. Drink from 2029-2035.
VM 90 (3/2025): The 2023 Meursault Cuvée Tête de Murger has a slight reduction on the nose, more marine-influenced than other cuvées though the Tillets has a bit more panache. The palate is well balanced with clementine and pithy pear, as touches of white pepper and lemongrass emerge towards the finish. This just needs a little more sustain, but otherwise this will do nicely. (Drink between 2026-2036). Neal Martin. |

A cool, pure and airy nose features ripe notes of white flowers, pear, oyster shell, quinine along with a moderate application of wood. The juicy and fleshy medium-bodied flavors are more concentrated with good minerality and power on the sneaky long finish where a touch of bitter lemon appears. This too needs more depth though the underlying material appears to be present for that to occur if given time. Drink from 2029.
VM 90+ (7/2025): The 2023 Chablis Les Clos Grand Cru has a competent nose with decent fruit intensity, though it is not the most complex Les Clos that I encountered during my tastings. The palate is much better, with a peachy opening and fine depth. This leans perhaps a little too far to the tropical side of the fruit spectrum on the finish. Then again, it does uphold tension and feels long. Give this a couple of years and keep your fingers crossed that the aromatics up their game. Tasted blind at the BIVB tasting in Chablis. BH 90-92 (10/2024): (from a .77 ha parcel planted in 1967 and 1987 and matured in 50% 1 to 5-year-old oak and 50% stainless). Moderate but not intrusive wood sets off aromas of both white and yellow peach, lychee, citrus confit and an array of spice nuances while offering just enough Chablis elements to be interesting. The succulent and more concentrated medium-bodied flavors exude more evident minerality on the refined, balanced and lingering finish that, once again, definitely could use better depth. The palate is well balanced with an underlying sapidity, slightly viscous in texture with veins of lemongrass towards the persistent finish. This is a fine upstanding Aligoté from Anne Morey. BH 87 (6/2025): A textbook aligoté nose is comprised by notes of various citrus elements, spice and ripe green apple. The seductive, even suave, middle weight flavors possess excellent punch as well as an almost pungent minerality that seems to build on the bone-dry, youthfully austere and borderline rustic and tannic finale. This is an old school effort that will need a year or two of keeping first. A quality aligoté. (Drink starting 2027). |

WA 91-93 (1/2025): Pillot always seems to achieve good cut and tension in this climat, and his 2023 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Champs Gain is once again very nicely proportioned, opening in the glass with notes of peach, minty pear and white flowers, followed by a medium to full-bodied, taut and chalky palate.
BH 89-91 (6/2025): An admirably discreet application of wood frames slightly riper aromas of poached pear, apple compote and elegant floral nuances. The round, delicious and generously proportioned medium-bodied flavors possess a seductive texture while delivering good if not special depth and persistence on the very dry but not especially austere finale. This is solid but perhaps not at its usual level of excellence. (Drink starting 2029). |

BH 86-88 (6/2025): Fresh and bright aromas include those of pear and apple compote, citrus rind and a hint of spice. There is equally good verve to the delicious and acceptably dense flavors that possess a succulent mid-palate that contrasts mildly with the youthfully austere and balanced finale. This could use better depth so a year, or perhaps two, of cellaring should help. (Drink starting 2026).

JM 90-92 (10/2024): Mid lemon yellow. A little reductive gunflint on the nose, not excessive. The stones show through the riper fruit on the nose, with good weight of white orchard fruit on the palate, the finish shows the class of Terres Blanches as a white wine terroir, extending nobly to the back. DIAM Drink from 2027-2032.
BH 90-92 (6/2025): (90% chardonnay and the remainder is pinot blanc.) Subtle though by no means imperceptible wood is present on the cooler aromas of Granny Smith apples, lemongrass and ample petrol nuances. Here too there is a lovely vibrancy to the delicious, if not particularly dense, middle weight flavors that exude a subtle minerality on the clean, bone-dry and youthfully austere finale that is also well-balanced. This well-made effort is going to need at least a few years of keeping to unwind. Worth considering, especially if you enjoy Nuits whites. Drink 2029+.
VM 88-90 (1/2025): The 2023 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Terres Blanches has a crisp and lively bouquet with more vigor than the Bourgogne Chardonnay: Conference pears and dew-speckled green apples. The palate opens fresh and vibrant, a little peachy on the entry but with racy acidity to counterbalance. Maybe it cuts away a little too swiftly on the finish, but otherwise this is a fine Pinot Blanc/Chardonnay combo to enjoy over the next five or six years. (Drink between 2025-2032). Neal Martin. |

WA 94 (11/2024): It's always hard to choose between this bottling and La Roche, and as usual, the 2023 Pouilly-Fuissé Les Combes Vieilles Vignes is a touch richer and broader out of the gates. Picked in three separate harvests (collecting only the ripest grapes on each passage), the Verget team pulled out all the stops to craft a medium to full-bodied, layered and satiny wine that's seamless and complete, evoking aromas of pear, honeycomb, white flowers and toasted nuts.
VM 92 (8/2025): The 2023 Pouilly-Fuissé Les Combes Vieilles Vignes comes from the village of Pouilly and was picked three times. This is all about precision on the nose, not powerful yet precise, with touches of limestone percolating through the citrus fruit. Hints of white flower emerge with aeration. The palate is well balanced with ample weight and depth. It's grippy and almost Chassagne-like, with a very persistent finish. Excellent. (Drink between 2026-2038). Neal Martin. |

There is outstanding volume to the rich and succulent broad-shouldered flavors that possess focused power on the beautifully long and sappy mineral-infused finish that is shaped by citrus-tinged acidity. This isn't quite as structured as the Chevalier, but it too is promising. Drink 2028+. |
