| BH 91 (10/2020): Hints of matchstick and exotic tea add breadth to the ripe, pure and pretty floral and poached pear-scented nose that is trimmed in just enough wood to comment on. The elegant middle weight flavors possess a lilting mouthfeel before concluding in a lightly stony, sleek, focused and persistent finish that gradually reveals just a touch of sweetness. This is particularly fine though it will need to develop more depth to merit its rating so do hold it for at least a few years. (Drink starting 2024). |

| VM 92-94 (12/2020): A blend of two parcels, the 2019 Meursault Les Genevrières 1er Cru was the first to be picked by Bouchard in this appellation. The well-defined bouquet features touches of lemon thyme, walnut and smoke. The palate is balanced with fine acidity, fresh and focused. The pretty, apricot-tinged finish fans out wonderfully and leaves residues of grilled almond and sesame on the aftertaste. Excellent. Neal Martin. |

VM 92-94 (11/2021): Fine lemon and lime colour, with a detailed elegant bouquet and a sense of class all the way through to a slightly richer bouquet. The Bouchard 2020 Genevrières certainly has the detail, with a mix of white fruits, a little apple and also some citrus. A fine Genevrières for the medium term.
BH 91-93 (6/2022): A ripe and naturally exotic nose features notes of Asian-style tea, anise, white peach and a whiff of fennel. The relatively generously proportioned medium weight flavors exude a subtle bead of minerality on the very dry and youthfully austere finish that also possesses a touch of bitter citrus character. Lovely juice and this is really quite classy. Drink 2028+. |

BH 91-93 (10/2024): Enough wood to merit mentioning surrounds the sightly riper if otherwise similar nose. The old vines are very much in evidence as there is an abundance of sappy dry extract adding a sense of volume and density to the larger-bodied flavors that possess slightly better depth. While this too could easily be enjoyed young, it should effortlessly repay up to a decade of keeping. (91-93)/2031+.
JM 91 (6/2025): In bottle. Fuller lemon yellow, and more of a wood effect on the nose, which currently damps down the detail. White fruit begins to emerge and there is considerable flesh on the palate. A slightly tighter wine at the finish than through the middle, and certainly persistent. Drink from 2026-2030. |

BH 90-93 (10/2024): A discreet though easily perceptible dollop of wood sets off overtly floral-suffused aromas of sea breeze and lemon zest. Here too the palate impression of the medium-bodied flavors is seductive and delicious with more evident minerality also adding a sense of lift to the balanced, sneaky long and saliva-inducing finale. This is also lovely and worth a look. (Drink starting 2029).
JM 91 (6/2025): Bottled in March 2025. Pale colour with a green streak. Not finding much bouquet as yet. Another understated but very refined wine, perhaps the hallmark of biodynamics. The best part is the length of the finish. Drink from 2026-2032. |

The markedly finer middleweight flavors exude evident minerality that adds a sense of lift to the balanced, nicely dry and impressively long finish that displays the natural class of a fine MdT. As with many of these 2022s, it could use more depth but the style is lovely and understated. Drink starting 2030.
VM 89 (8/2024): The 2022 Chablis Montée de Tonnerre 1er Cru has a fresh nose with grass clippings and Granny Smiths on the nose - a traditional Chablis nose that is well-defined and quite complex. The palate is fresh and vibrant on the entry, taut and fresh, although I would have liked more mineralité on the finish. Almost there… but not quite! Tasted blind at the BIVB tasting in Chablis. | WA 93 (8/2018): Raveneau's 2016 Chablis 1er Cru Butteaux is excellent, offering up a youthfully reserved bouquet of apple, white peach, beeswax and dried flowers. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, with lovely texture, considerable mid-palate amplitude and a bright line of acidity, concluding with a firm, salty finish that balances its somewhat gourmand attack. Along with the Vaillons, the Butteaux stood out as one of the most complete of Raveneau's premiers crus this year, revealing more and more nuance over several days. Right now, it's quite closed, but I won't be surprised if it becomes quite musky and exotic after a few years in the cellar. |

Lovely definition. The palate is well balanced with a slight waxiness on the entry, and a little pithy in style. Hints of yellow plum and spices emerge toward a finish that develops an appealing creamy texture with time. Excellent. But personally I prefer the nervosité of the Butteaux. (Drink between 2021-2032).

The palate is very concentrated, dense and weighty, with a slightly more viscous texture than the Butteaux. Notes of dried honey, stem ginger and a pinch of white pepper appear on the finish. This big, bold Montée de Tonnerre is for the long term. (Drink between 2026-2050). Neal Martin.
WA 94 (7/2022): Unwinding in the glass with aromas of citrus zest, nutmeg, fresh hazelnuts and white flowers, framed by a deft touch of youthful reduction, the 2019 Chablis 1er Cru Montée de Tonnerre is medium to full-bodied, satiny and enveloping, with a ripe and fleshy core of fruit that's underpinned by racy acids and chalky structure. As in 2020, the Montée de Tonnerre is something of a baby Clos. |

The equally cool and airy nose is much more floral with ample citrus character on the iodine, tidal pool and algae-suffused aromas that are also trimmed in just enough wood to notice. The medium-bodied flavors are finer if less powerful with a lovely mouth feel that continues onto the intensely saline and mineral-inflected finish that is a really lovely combination of depth, length and finesse. This super saline effort is well worth checking out. Drink 2022+. Outstanding!
WA 93 (8/2016): The 2014 Chablis 1er Cru Montmain has a lifted bouquet with granite and slate-like aromas, a little withdrawn at the moment, but you can tell this will repay 3-4 years in bottle. The palate is fresh and vibrant with crisp acidity, hints of orange rind and lemon zest, good depth in the mouth with fresh pear and quince towards the finish. Impressive, but it will need time. This killer Chablis has a bright future ahead of it.
VM 92 (8/2015): Pale, bright yellow-green. Musky aromas and flavors of quinine, mint and white pepper, plus an element of dusty herbs that reminded me of Grüner Veltliner. Densely packed and sharply delineated, displaying lovely energy andfinesse. Very classy Monts Mains with a long rising finish. Stephen Tanzer. |

BH 93 (1/2023): A slightly riper though almost as elegant nose combines notes of petrol and citrus with those of acacia, mineral reduction and crushed fennel. There is more volume and richness to the less prominently stony flavors that possess a highly seductive mouthfeel, all wrapped in a superbly long finish. This isn't quite as refined as the Genevrières but it's even more complex. I would observe that while the two wines are qualitative equals, they offer two very different expressions. (Drink starting 2029).
JM 93-95 (10/2022): The terroir is made up of small stones in red soil, quite similar to Caillerets. Clean pretty pale primrose, with a brilliant tensile concentration through the middle, not very Meursault this terroir but extremely persistent and makes Genevrières alongside seem a bit massive. Very impressive in its linear style. Drink from 2026-2032. |

BH 95 (7/2017): Smoky broad-ranging aromas are composed primarily of various white orchard fruit, acacia blossom, citrus rind, wood and a hint of exotic tea. There is an abundance of dry extract that imparts a sappy character to the concentrated, mineral-driven and wonderfully complex flavors that also display a hint of mandarin orange on the strikingly long finish that is Zen-like in its harmony. In a word, fantastic. (Drink starting 2023).
WA 94 (4/2018): The 2015 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Clos de la Mouchère, Boillot's emblematic cuvée, is one of the highlights of the range in 2015, opening in the glass with notes of struck flint, white peach, nutmeg and crushed chalk. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, powerful and intense, with great energy and tension at the core, its long finish concluding with chalky grip. More vertical than the expansive Pucelles, this is the most tensile premier cru in the cellar in 2015.
VM 92 (11/2018): The 2015 Puligny-Montrachet Clos de la Mouchère 1er Cru is showing quite noticeable reduction on the nose, although there seems to be sufficient fruit underneath. The palate is well balanced with a fine line of acidity, and quite reduced like the nose, but it conveys a sense of energy, unlike the Les Perrières from François Carillon tasted alongside. There is a pleasing saltiness and slight nuttiness on the finish that bodes well for the future. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting. (Drink between 2020-2035). Neal Martin. |

BH 96 (6/2018): ( from 60+ year old vines and the vineyard is a whopping 4 ha monopole within Perrières.) A highly restrained nose requires considerable swirling to liberate the beautifully well-layered aromas of mineral reduction, white rose, spice, citrus and a wisp of exotic tea. Like the Pucelles there is excellent richness and detail and much more minerality-suffusing the almost painfully intense finale that is breathtaking in its persistence. This is a gem of a Puligny 1er and in 2016 is a lovely blend of power and finesse. In sum, this is a knockout. Drink 2028+. Don't miss! Outstanding!
VM 93-95 (9/2017): (13.3% alcohol with 4.5 grams per liter acidity; cropped at 38 hectoliters per hectare, from vines up to 80 years of age): Bright light-medium yellow. Utterly pure scents of stone fruits, apricot, nuts and honeysuckle. Rich, deep, silky and moderately saline but also powerful and backward, displaying terrific precision and purity in the mouth. A superb, classic Clos de la Mouchère: utterly plush and seamless without being heavy or over the top. To be sure this is a lovely wine that could aptly be described as notably bigger and more powerful than is typical for Pucelles. Drink 2018+. Outstanding!
VM 92-95 (10/2013): Green-tinged medium yellow. Ripe stone fruits, pear, honey and hazelnut on the inviting nose and palate. Fat, rich and chewy; this extract-rich wine boasts terrific solidity and depth of fruit. Finishes with Outstanding force and length. Has the palate presence of a grand cru. (Incidentally, there's no Folatieres in 2012; Boillot only made his domain bottlings from Puligny-Montrachet.) |

WA 93 (4/2018): The 2015 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Pucelles is superb, wafting from the glass with notes of yellow stone fruit, iodine and noble reduction—its bouquet more reserved than the Perrières and Combettes which preceded it in our tasting. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and elegantly glossy, with grand cru depth and dimension, sustained by superb cut and tension. |

BH 89 (6/2024): A more complex nose features notes of citrus confit, green apple and a floral top note along with just enough wood to notice. There is excellent concentration to the sappy and very rich yet focused medium weight flavors that possess a plush mouthfeel, all wrapped in a chalky, youthfully austere and lightly stony finale where a touch of warmth slowly emerges. This well-made effort should repay 2 to 3 years of keeping. (Drink starting 2026). |

VM 88? (7/2024): The 2020 Saint-Aubin Clos de la Chatenière 1er Cru has a slightly nutty, Meursault-like bouquet that needs a little more freshness. It feels a little more mature than a 2020. There is something a bit static about the aromatics. The palate is balanced with a tangy opening, a simple Chardonnay rather than a definable Saint-Aubin. It is fresh and boasts decent length, but it does not leave you beholden. N.B. I find this far superior at the Domaine, hence my lower score. Perhaps the bottle? Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.
BH 92 (7/2023): There is just enough reduction to suppress the underlying fruit for the moment with the exception of a whisper of lemon zest. By contrast there is really lovely intensity to the precise, cool and restrained mineral-inflected middleweight flavors that terminate in a racy, clean and emphatically dry finale that displays only a trace of youthful austerity. This chiseled effort is excellent and akin to rolling tiny rocks around the mouth. |

Offering up aromas of crisp orchard fruit, citrus oil and freshly baked bread, it's medium to full-bodied, layered and concentrated, its satiny attack segueing into a taut, chalky mid-palate and a long, mineral finish.
BH 90 (6/2023): Smoky aromas of green apple, pear and a subtle floral nuance are complemented by succulent, delicious and vibrant middleweight flavors that are sleek if not especially dense, all wrapped in a beautifully textured, focused, stony and lingering finish. In contrast to the Clos des Gravières, this is going to need at least a few years of keeping first as it is less forthcoming at present. (Drink starting 2027). |

BH 92 (6/2023): This is aromatically quite similar to the Chez Edouard but with more prominent citrus influence. There is notably better density to the equally beautifully textured medium-bodied flavors that flash excellent minerality on the solidly powerful, lengthy and impeccably well-balanced finale. Like the Gravières, this should be enjoyable young but have no trouble repaying up to a decade of bottle age. (Drink starting 2028).
VM 88 (7/2024): The 2020 Saint-Aubin En Remilly 1er Cru has a perfumed bouquet with wet pavement and limestone aromas, pinning this as an En Remilly. It just becomes a little diffuse with aeration. The palate is slightly chalky on the entry, has crisp acidity, and may be a little too sharp on the citric finish. I would also prefer more length here. The palate is taut and crisp on the entry, slightly waxy in texture, and maybe even a little petrol-y in style. It has good depth and crisp acidity but shuts down somewhat towards the finish. JM 90-92 (10/2024): Mid lemon yellow. A little reductive gunflint on the nose, not excessive. The stones show through the riper fruit on the nose, with good weight of white orchard fruit on the palate, the finish shows the class of Terres Blanches as a white wine terroir, extending nobly to the back. DIAM Drink from 2027-2032.
BH 90-92 (6/2025): (90% chardonnay and the remainder is pinot blanc.) Subtle though by no means imperceptible wood is present on the cooler aromas of Granny Smith apples, lemongrass and ample petrol nuances. Here too there is a lovely vibrancy to the delicious, if not particularly dense, middle weight flavors that exude a subtle minerality on the clean, bone-dry and youthfully austere finale that is also well-balanced. This well-made effort is going to need at least a few years of keeping to unwind. Worth considering, especially if you enjoy Nuits whites. Drink 2029+.
VM 88-90 (1/2025): The 2023 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Terres Blanches has a crisp and lively bouquet with more vigor than the Bourgogne Chardonnay: Conference pears and dew-speckled green apples. The palate opens fresh and vibrant, a little peachy on the entry but with racy acidity to counterbalance. Maybe it cuts away a little too swiftly on the finish, but otherwise this is a fine Pinot Blanc/Chardonnay combo to enjoy over the next five or six years. (Drink between 2025-2032). Neal Martin. |

VM 92 (9/2017): Very pale, bright yellow. Rather wild scents of lemon, lime, white flowers and crushed rock. Fat, savory and sweet, with captivating salty minerality enlivening the chewy flavors of white peach, citrus zest and smoky oak. Wonderfully tactile yet smooth wine with superb subtle length and salinity. Shows more dimension than the 2015 version. No shortage of sweetness here but has lovely supporting acidity. BH 91 (10/2022): As was the case when I originally reviewed the '14 Boudriotte, there is still a mild touch of reduction that isn't sufficient to mask the otherwise mature, ripe and cool aromas of rosemary resin, apple, pear and citrus peel. There is fine volume to the delicious and generously proportioned flavors that manage to retain solid delineation on the focused and lingering finale. This is not an especially elegant effort (though Boudriotte rarely is) but I do like the balance. This is surprisingly forward in the context of the vintage and while it should continue to hold, it is unlikely to improve from here. (Drink starting 2022). |

VM 93+ (8/2024): The 2022 Chablis Fôrets 1er Cru was promising from barrel last year. Now, in bottle, it has held on to that complex, mineral-led bouquet, with hints of chamomile in the background. The palate is very well balanced with a silver thread of acidity, like the Montée de Tonnerre. Quite understated towards the finish, suggesting that this will benefit from a few years in bottle. Plenty of energy, but patience required. Neal Martin.
BH 93 (10/2024): There is ample citrus influence suffusing the nose that could be from nowhere else but Chablis with its array of seashore, algae and oyster shell scents. The caressing but notably denser and more powerful larger-bodied flavors coat the palate while retaining an attractive texture on the strikingly persistent finish that is shaped by bright acidity. This can't match the MdT for refinement but it is presently more complex and should age just as well. |

WA 94 (8/2019): A bottling that regularly excels chez Dauvissat, the 2017 Chablis 1er Cru Séchet opens in the glass with delicate aromas of citrus peel, grapefruit, crisp green apples and white flowers, with only subtle hints of the oyster shell to come. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, satiny and concentrated, with a deep and tight-knit core, striking tension and a searingly mineral finish. Séchet—where Dauvissat owns a 0.8-hectare parcel—is located in the Vaillons Valley, but its windier situation and soils richer in active limestone mean it's typically much chalkier and more tensile than the other climats that make up Vaillons.
VM 92 (1/2020): The 2017 Chablis Sechet 1er Cru is soft and open-knit, not to mention incredibly inviting. Dried pear, almond, spice and savory notes all grace this lovely, absolutely charming Chablis. Pretty floral overtones add to its considerable allure. This is one of the wines in this range that will drink best with minimal cellaring. (Drink between 2020-2032). Antonio Galloni.
BH 91 (10/2019): An impressively broad-ranging nose offers up notes of mineral reduction, wet chalk, sea breeze, citrus and dried apple. There is good richness yet also good refinement to the generously proportioned flavors that exude a fine bead of minerality on the beautifully persistent finish. | BH 90 (4/2024): A more elegant, and more floral-suffused, nose reflects notes of red berry fruit compote that is certainly ripe but stops short of being jammy. There is a more refined texture to the middleweight flavors thanks to the relatively fine-grained tannins shaping the balanced and lingering finale. As pretty as this is, it does need to develop better depth so at least a few years of conservation should be a positive. (Drink starting 2028). |
