VM 88 (3/2014): The 2011 Bourgogne is a pretty entry-level offering from Denis Bachelet. Blue/purplish fruit, sweet tobacco and licorice are some of the notes that inform the supple, easygoing finish. This is a terrific wine in its class. (Drink between 2014-2016). Antonio Galloni. WA 88 (2/2014): The entry-level 2011 Bourgogne Rouge has a lovely leafy bouquet with dark earthy fruit that feels natural and refined. The palate is medium-bodied with raspberry and strawberry fruit on the entry, fine tannins and a pleasant supple finish. This is uncomplicated and totally delicious. Drink now-2016. |

WA 88-90 (6/2015): The 2012 Bourgogne comes from two parcels in “Les Pressonnier” and “Les Grand Champs” and sees no new oak. It has a captivating bouquet of brambly black fruit that is very well defined. The palate is well balanced with sappy black fruit on the entry, nicely judged acidity and a natural, pastille-like finish. This is uncomplicated but astutely crafted, downright delicious Burgundy. VM 88-90 (1/2014): A great introduction to the vintage here, Bachelet's 2012 Bourgogne is endowed with superb depth and purity in its class. Red stone fruits, plums, spices, menthol and licorice inform this striking, expressive beauty. There is a surprising amount of structure for a Bourgogne. (Drink between 2014-2020). Antonio Galloni. BH 87-89 (1/2014): There is a gentle touch of wood to the spicy red and dark berry fruit aromas that convey a real sense of earth that carries over to the impressively rich and utterly delicious flavors that despite the obvious ripeness retain a fine sense of energy and freshness on the lingering finish. This is a really good Bourgogne and absolutely worth a look. (Drink starting 2016). |

| BH 91-93 (4/2007): (from 20 year old vines.) In contrast to the expressiveness of the prior wines, this was sufficiently reduced to render the nose difficult to read though predictably, the flavors were bigger and much more robust with impressive balance between the firm tannins, mid-palate sap and acid spine. I slightly prefer the purity of the Taillepieds but both are packed with development potential. Drink 2015+. Sweet Spot Outstanding! |

| BH 90-92 (4/2007): A classic Volnay with superbly elegant, even airy red fruit aromas that give way to exceptionally pure, balanced sweet and utterly delicious middle weight flavors supported by dense but fine tannins and wonderful persistence. This is a lovely and harmonious effort with real mid-palate density. Outstanding! Drink 2012+. |

Musigny Grand Cru Cuvee Vieilles Vignes |

WA 97 (5/2011): The 2008 Musigny Vieilles Vignes is a wine I could smell all day. The explosive bouquet literally jumps from the glass, followed by deep, beautifully delineated layers of fruit. This shows terrific concentration and depth, dazzling finesse, and a nicely pointed, direct finish. It is an eternal wine. Anticipated maturity: 2023-2048. BH 96 (1/2011): This is also quite reserved at present with an elegant, airy, cool and pure nose that is kaleidoscopically complex as it offers red currant, plum, black cherry and a panoply of floral and spice notes, in particular violet and anise, before marrying seamlessly into mineral-driven and alluring big-bodied flavors that explode on the powerful and almost painfully intense finish that delivers genuinely stunning length. I love the way Musigny can so effortlessly combine a silky palate impression with serious muscle. This should be quite impressive in time though note that it will need a minimum of 18 to 25 years of cellar time. Drink 2028+. Don't miss! VM 95+ (4/2011): (bottled in April of 2010): Good full medium red. Pungent aromas of wild red berries and crushed stone complicated by mint and pepper. Juicy and extremely intense but youthfully imploded today, showing a medicinal reserve and a crystallized quality to its sharply delineated fruit and mineral flavors. Finishes with serious tannic spine, but the wine's energy and subtle building perfume are utterly captivating. Almost painful today but showed building fruit even in the brief time I had it in my glass. Enologist Francois Millet believes that the freshness of the 2008s "will collapse if the wines are served too warm" as the syrupy fruit character of the vintage is needed to balance its brisk acidity. He suggested a serving temperature of under 60 degrees. |

Clos des Lambrays Grand Cru (1.5 L) Signs of Old Seepage |

BH 94 (1/2013): (produced from two large parcels of differing vine age - one that is approximately two-thirds of the blend and is now 45 years of age and a second, smaller group of vines that is approximately 20+ years of age; vinified with 100% whole clusters.) A highly expressive and very broad nose of superb aromatic complexity that includes earth, game, spice, red currant, plum, violets and a hint of the sauvage. The round and supple flavors possess outstanding detail and while the complexity doesn't quite match that of the exquisite nose, it's not far behind and this culminates in a beautifully balanced and harmonious finish that delivers striking persistence. I also had a chance to retaste the 2009 and it is bigger, richer and more powerful while the 2010 is much more of a wine of finesse and refinement. In a word, beautiful. Drink 2022+. VM 93+ (3/2013): Good bright, deep red. Very closed but pure and stylish nose hints at cherry liqueur and spices, with elements of mulch and pepper emerging with air. Dense, tactile and large-boned, but with its flesh somewhat suppressed today. Finishes saline, concentrated and thick, with substantial granular tannins. This needs at least six to eight more years in bottle to expand, and may well deserve an even higher score by 2020. Stephen Tanzer. |

| BH 89-91 (1/2020): (from the villages portion of the vineyard.)This is at once slightly more elegant and more complex with its cool and airy nose of red and dark pinot fruit that is amply laced with earth and floral hints, all of which is trimmed in a deft touch of wood. The mouthfeel of the delicious medium-bodied flavors is once again fleshy and generous but refined and with good minerality on the palate coating and length finish. This is a lovely Chambolle villages. Drink 2025+. Outstanding Top Value! |

|
| |
| BH 93 (1/2011): (the Liger-Belair vines in this small vineyard run from top to bottom whereas the others are situated in segments; Cathiard is on top, Grivot in the middle and Arnoux at the bottom.) The most elegant and coolest of these Vosne 1ers with a plum, violet, rose petal and anise suffused nose that gracefully introduces the detailed, intense and highly refined middle weight flavors brimming with an almost pungent minerality before culminating in a seductively mouth coating and strikingly long finish. Reference standard Reignots. Drink 2020+. Outstanding! |
